I took my 2000 M2 to a local track today and did parade laps. Although they were just parade laps, to me it was like racing. Wow!, so much fun; so much to learn! It was completely free and we got 20 minutes on the track. I was worn out by 15! It's a tight track so top speeds are limited. It's said to be a technically intense track. It sure seemed like it with two decreasing radius turns. Passing was only allowed on the front and the back straights, although by the time the leaders caught up to me several of them passed in the corners.

I can't wait to do it again

That profile pic of your bike is awesome. Can't beat yellow! And I ike your seat.

Thanks for the detail of your maintenance too. Looks like LaFayette is helping you. I'm thankful that he's a BadWebber as are you.

Track time is fun time.

Jim2, you have no idea what you have just done to yourself. Say goodbye to your savings. Glad you had fun. There is nothing like ripping up the track.
What track?

Grandsports Speedway in Hitchcock, TX. It's new. They plan to build a second track soon.

There were three other Buell's there today. An 1125, and XB12, and Dr. Awkwards custom Fighter M2 (I bought my seat from him after he chopped the tail off).

The big Motorcycle rally in Galveston was this weekend. There were bikes everywhere. At times they seemed to outnumber the cars. I noticed way more sportbikes this year then ever before. It was a great weekend.

There aren't very many addictions pricier than track days... : )

You'll need leathers once you're sick of renting them.
Then you need better tires.
Then you decide you don't really want to run your daily rider that hard, so you get a dedicated track bike.
And... well, a dedicated track bike can support dedicated track tires, right?
And, well, if you've got track tires, it'd be a shame to not have tire warmers to keep them up to temperature and not heat cycle them.
And, if you've got tire warmers, what if you can't find power? Clearly, a generator is required.
But now, you're running into the limits of what your car can tow, so you need a pickup and a bigger, enclosed trailer for the track days.
But you can't just let a new pickup sit outside, so you need a house with a bigger garage to fit everything!

: )

And that's just the start...

(Track days rock - they can just get insanely expensive if you let them)
