You are limited on download amounts if you don't opt for the top tier offer, weather can make things tough when you need it the most, and getting help over the phone really depends on who you get on the phone (they always speak clear english, just some motivated to help more than others). I have more trouble with it when the weather in WV is bad than when the weather at my house is bad. It must be where the upload Satellite dish is located. The internet service was unreliable and the customer service was worse. If it rained at my house...internet down. If it rained at Hughes HQ...internet down. I have DirecTv and am happy with it. I can't believe they are the same company. I use DSL through the phone company now. There is another option... I got a blackberry with a data plan and tether it to my computer. It's not as fast as DSL, but way better than dial up. And the portability is really handy. There is a data limit, but I never come close to it.
