There was a REAL Road Kill Cafe in Bartlett, NH about a decade ago. We found it on our way to Mt. Washington. Great, FUN place. Don't know why it closed. There was apparently another one somewhere in Maine, and the owner was looking into franchising before they just closed. Too bad... I still have the T-Shirt I bought from them somewhere. |

Pwnzr-I love tommys. Burnt tortilla - Gardena, Ca Josie's - Gardena, Ca. Vals Burgers - Castro valley, CA. Any place that has a grill and a beach! Any place that looks like a shack but has a ton of people waiting. I just try not to eat anywhere I can eat at home. |

Thanks to the mighty Oz, Grndskpr, Lake Bueller & Pale Rider, I am addicted to Waffle House. Here in France anything with a "Les Routiers" sign is usually pretty good. |

I always like to stop at "Mom's". Results can vary. |

I too fall in the category "not stopping there if I can get it at home". But we also usually look for the out of the way, Mels-Diner type places. Also asking the locals about favorites tends to get a few insider hints. |

Noone1569, Good excuse for a ride anyway. I have a thing for local fast foot joints (no golden arches), and onion rings. There's a covered bridge just outside of town. If you route through New Richmond, you'll recognize some of the buildings there from the movie "Hoosiers". |

Has anyone eaten at Casa Bonita in Denver? The food is pretty bad (think Swanson frozen Mexican TV dinner) but the place itself is pretty cool, and the sopapillas are EXCELLENT. |

What would everybody think of asking the ADMIN-types for a dedicated thread with restaurant AND the ride Like Newcomb's Ranch, Angelest Crest HWY: http://tinyurl.com/45ywgzj (no... NOT a Rick Roll!) |

Or Cheryl's Diner, Kernville, CA - Caliente/Bodfish road up the spike of the Sierra Nevadas, drops down into the Kernville/Isabella lake area. Kernville/Isabella was the kicking off point for the first international white-water competition held in the USA. Cheryl's has a GREAT outside patio. ALL the riders pass by on a Summer day. http://tinyurl.com/3hoo2k5 |

Slaughter- you're onto something. We love to ride. On a timeline, prior to riding we love to eat. Post riding, we love to eat. As an amateur/failed sociologist and a bartender, I must observe we all seek out 3rd places. As a motorcyclist, I am uniquely enabled to seek out 3rd places. Home/work/??? Places to congregate, eat, socialize, shoot the shizznit... Discuss. ! |

When I'm in Ohio, I HAVE to stop and eat at a Skyline Chili. Absolutely! Although I usually cook Cincinnati Chili as least 2-3 times a month, but it's just not the same! We also love LaRosa's Pizza while in Cincinnati.

At the risk of veering this way off topic, the bad thing about some of the fine eateries you can hit on a road trip is that they are fine "drinkeries" as well: when I was in Maryland, I would have loved to ride to Rehoboth beach for a meal at the Dogfish Head brew-pub, but I knew I would pretty much be assured of having to hang up the leathers for the day after such a meal. |

Mike's Famous Harley in Delaware (just south of the Delaware Memorial Bridge) has an attached restaurant with "Cincinnatti-style Chili" on the menu. It's good, but it ain't Skyline. |

Keen readers will recall the significance of the Cliffhouse Inn in Buell history and the hilarious photo of Erik and I in the parking lot. You remember, right? Well ..... You, at least, recall the kind words written about it in R.O.B.E. By our German guest. |
