A note from Bill Keys for everyone:

Breaking news, monday Oct. 17 3x GNC, 2x USAC Indy Champion Joe Leonard suffered an extreme double stroke at his home. Joe and his Doctors have been concerned with a 70% clogged artery, due to the risk and his age, they decided not to operate. 60 days later its 100% clogged and this is the result. It was touch and go, but he has shown progress and the next 24 hrs will tell the tale. He wi...ll be transfered to an Acute rehab to help restore his abilities to function. He has memory, speech loss, and is not able to move on his entire left side. The Neurologist told us, he shouldn't have survived. Please keep him in your prayers. Joe and his Family asked that you do not attempt to visit or call. Joe has many friends and fans and each one is special, but no one will be allowed in to visit until further notice. Please dont add stress by not cooperating. I will update here as things continue to progress

Rex,
I have seen that man race the dirt half miles and the miles so many times in person I can't count them. Fantastic racer and good all around guy. Aways gave it all he had. First Nixon then this. Hope he makes it. I have many memories.
