I just picked up an Escort 9500ix. This is my first radar detector. I need to keep paying my current insurance premiums... Anybody else use one. I hope to mount it to my bike somehow, I know the 9500ix has an audio jack...

I have a Valentine 1, in a custom molded case with RAM mount, and I use a HARD transmitter to broadcast visual alerts to my helmet. Works great.

Do you park your bike like that when you stop for lunch or do you spend the extra time to mount/dismount all of that all the time? I feel a bit cluttered with my GPS mounted!

Froggy, will the detector pick up a signal from behind you?

BTW, you've got more gadgets than Dick Tracy (an idiom lost on today's youth).

Yep. The Space Shuttle was high tech 30 years ago, but they didn't do much in terms of upgrading. Don't fix what ain't broken when it involves space travel.

No, that means I have about 40 miles to go before I think about where I will stop and refill.

Yep I leave it as is. Phone is the only easy to remove item, so that comes with me, mostly because I am going to use it. GPS is basically welded to the bike (fracking security screw), Veypor race computer is hard wired and useless without my bike, Radar detector takes a few minutes to remove out of the box and disconnect, so that only comes off for overnight stays in bad areas. TPMS is also hard wired in too, plus you would need to steal my rims to make them work.

Yep, 360 degree coverage. In fact I've had it happen before were it picked up a cop in front of me, but due to the environment and traffic, it detected it from the rear before the front. Very sensitive, works fantastic!

Two of the guys on our recent 2,000mi. trip to Arkansas had them. We were only surprised once but no tickets. We did see quite a few cops but always knew they were there.

It is an AquaBox, it is a nice waterproof enclosure available in multiple sizes. I believe the one I am using for my modem is the medium size, I drilled a small hole in the bottom to allow my USB charger cable to fit in.

It just so happened to have a sprint logo on top and didn't notice the HTC logo. I was more interested in the box and not the phone.

It also happened to have what looked to be a Zagg shield on it that looked exactly like the one on the iphones that have a slit on top for the speaker and a round home button on the bottom.

I could care less who stole that layout from whom, it's a phone of almost identical dimension.

Smarta$$e$ (smile)

Froggy has 911 programmed into his BAS. He tips over.....help is on the way. He needs this on his Blast for winter use. No more fumbling for the phone with frozen fingers and a broken arm while riding/sliding on ice!

Vern, http://phantomtracking.com/product.aspx

Phantom Tracking’s patented crash detection technology allows the tracking device to sense conditions experienced in a crash and notify the monitoring center of a possible crash and its location. Once a crash notification is received by the monitoring center a live operator will call the motorcycle owner to determine if assistance is needed. If no answer is received the monitor center can dispatch emergency services to the location of the motorcycle.

Boogi, it is also an active traceable alarm system. It is cheaper than Lojack, plus it can send help your way if you are unconscious. It is more like OnStar, hence the low monthly fee.

Hey Frogs.....you better set yours to "hard hit" or "second fall" for your Blast! Other wise they would just have to send someone to follow you around all winter!
