Have you seen some sort of rig that would let me do a video walk around of a bike without getting the camera shake every time I take a step? |

Skill. I have made a living on my ability to hold a smooth/solid shot using a hand held camera. Its only taken me 14 years of practice Really it takes some practice/skill no matter what you end up buying or creating to stabilize a shot. "Steadicams" like the one pictured above and the $50,000 systems I have used require skill to nail a smooth shot. Practice, Practice, Practice. May I suggest a what we call a "Fig-Rig" knock-off. I use them alot to get a steady shot out of a small cam. http://www.instructables.com/id/PVC-FIG-RIG/ Here is one of mine I painted black to look "Pro"
I also use a cheap "steadicam" knock off called the Flycam Nano for DLSR steadicam shots. The Flycam Nano is cheap and effective in the right hands. Check this video: http://vimeo.com/23452856 My Flycam Rig on the set:
CAUTION: Steadicam shots require skill and practice. Each rig must be properly balanced for the type of shot and camera gear. Cheap steadicams/knock offs have what we pros call "Balance Hell" a time vampire of trying to get your rig balanced and away from what looks to be a camera shooting from a boat in ruff waters. The rig Buellkowski posted is only good if you never need to tilt up/down. |

Cool thanks both. I'm motivated by the DIY angle. I reckon I can design a counterbalance and handle to work with my tripod - that I already carry. Mainly because It has to fit in my backpack on the bike. Cameras Cannon Legria HD Nikon D90 GoPro HD |

I love it when a plan comes together.

More mass helps. Especially with the camera you are shooting with. Good luck. |

Stop it - you'll go blind. Yeah - planning on a barbell weight on the big bolt and fabricating a plate for under the nut to sit the tripod legs in. Hardware store to see what sort of handle bracket this afternoon. |
