My neighbor was killed last night riding she was a nice lady. She raced and did some stuff with Ducati a few years back as well. I waved to her going out last night and saw a vigil this morning at her house I knew it wasn't good. http://www.dailyrecord.com/article/20111008/NJNEWS /310080010/Hopatcong-woman-dead-after-motorcycle-h its-car-Route-46-Mount-Olive |

Thats horrible. Best to her family and friends. That driver needs to be charged. I hope if she doesn't get charged, she's smart enough to know what she's done and hate living with it every day for the rest of her life. Let's be careful out there everyone...'tis the time of year when cagers start to think "they won't be out anymore, it's too cold" (if they think of us at all...), so we have even MORE to worry about. I've seen it a lot the last couple days on my rides. Combinations of ignorance and "leaf-peeping" with the fall colors...we've got big ol' targets on our helmets. |

Thanks guys will do!! The family is in Vermont and the neighborhood kept up a real nice candlelight vigil all last night. NJ is a very populated place unfortunately this stuff happens way to often. |

I think it happens way too often everywhere. My condolences. Just yesterday another motorcyclist did a left in front of me. I saw it coming but the rider looked quite startled. I try to watch every intersection carefully. |

Sorry to hear and my condolences too for your neighbor's family. Yesterday, I found myself with my left turn signal on long after I made my last turn. Where I was riding, it could have turned out real bad. Normally, I turn my turn signal off at the apex of my turn, but, for some reason, missed this one. It only takes one distraction and you may be the next statistic. |

So very sorry Dave. It's never good to hear about accidents and losses, let alone when it involves someone you know. Every time I take my bike out, I can't help but remind myself of the risks involved. Having cycled at lot in the past, there was one fella where I lived in Scotland that would pull out on me on a regular basis whilst I was riding my bicycle. Motorists in cars feel protected and are often oblivious and drive care free. It really isn't right. |

That sucks. That article title pisses me off too, how can you make it sound like it was the MC drivers fault, when she had the right of way? Typical sh#t journalist. |

What a shame. . . . know the intersection and know the accident, the most common in motorcycling. My thoughts are with the family, what a terrible loss. |
