Yeah I read down and saw it on the web site I just got so excited I didn't read it. I wish I could go so bad but I got soccer with the lil man and I really don't like to miss that. I gotta have my principles. Mike or anybody if you make it out there could you let me know how it is and if they let it out what the price point looks to be?

They will not tell you a price point cause they haven't figured it out yet. I asked them when they were in Phoenix.

It highlights a basic shortcoming in business acumen as well.

It appears they are but trolling and building in whatever direction the wind blows.

Try telling potential investors you've no idea what your product will sell for or to, by extension, whom.

Is knowing and not telling the same as not knowing?

Court, I dont know about that. May be a smart move. I'm no paragon of business, but if they are just in the showoff stage, and trolling for investors, they don't want the first impression for the general public/potential customer to be that the bike it is made of unobtainium with a stratospheric price tag. That way in the back of everyones minds will be the notion that the Motus was that unaffordable bike that he/she would never be able to pay for. When they get the investors and infrastructure and the mass production begins then they can begin to publish or announce the real MSRP.

I doubt that Motus is "not telling investors you've no idea what your product will sell for..." Right now their tour on its face appears to be geared towards courting customers. I'm sure the backroom talks with the investors includes many figures being thrown around.

Agreed but there are quite a few PR companies to spin doctor that up with the hey we want to eventuly mass produce this product and our price point will be XXXX but the first run will have to be XXXXX with nothing but premium parts and hand built pieces. I am pretty sure that's being done somewhere around here.I might add if it's done correctly and honestly it works and works well

I think you will be impressed. Spend some time with Lee and Brian. They are very approachable and willing to answer any questions you have (regardless of how critical they might be).

A FAQ from the Motus site:

"Q: What are the expected retail prices of the MST and MST-R?

We will announce final pricing, options, and full production specifications for the MST series in late 2011. We are still evaluating key components and suppliers and are working hard to keep the base price affordable for a wide range of riders. Please stay tuned."

Sounds reasonable to me. The MST is still a prototype. Stated production date is 2012.

By the way, Gold Coast had an Excelsior on their floor for YEARS after the company went belly up. They're used to speculating, and they've been wrong before...

How does it sound in person? The video's are impressive for sound anyway. How is the seat it looks kinda Honda Magnaish? How is the overall weight and feel of the machine? I don't think it will be my next machine but I like the idea of another American machine!!!!!!

Sorry I had to miss it. Last night was my club's "Meeting Night" and as the President, I kinda-sorta had to be there. Voted in two more prospects and have a third on the line (who rides a Buell and is a member of BadWeb, by the way).

It sounds pretty bad ass in person.Kind of like half a built small block. They are running
aftermarket cans while in the prototype stage. No way in hell it would pass EPA regs as it is.
Oh and no,I didn't see it in New York.It was at NPR Ducati in Watkinsville,Ga. a month or so back and at Barber this past weekend.

Had a chance to see it in person this past weekend at Barber Vintage Motorcycle Festival. Nice guys. Very approachable and interesting to talk with. The bike sounds really nice. Like the idea of it (torquey touring bike).
