Well holiday (vacation to some of you) time is over & it's back to the grind, so I feel it's time for a competition to liven things up & get your creative juices flowing.

Here's the deal, a certain motorcycle company that we all know is in difficulty, their core demographic is imploding & their model range, though iconic, is rather outdated.

Yes my friends the "Ahemahem Motorcycle Company" has problems & in order to get through this difficult time their advertising budget has been reduced enormously.

I thought that we could help them out & be green at the same time by re-cycling some classic old ads from the past.

Think along the lines of, the old Fedex ad for instance.....

"Ahemahem when it absolutely positively has to be there, sometime maybe."

Or

"You meet the oldest people on an Ahemahem"

You get the idea I'm sure.

Post up your ideas here, no more than one a day, NO POLITICS or RELIGION please.

A panel of judges including myself & Barker, plus others tba, will select a shortlist to be voted on.

Matt Barker has very generously agreed to produce the winning entry, to be posted on youtube. subject of course to technical limitations, no riding motorcycles out of the back of planes etc.

When you post up your ideas, if you can find a link to the original ad that'd be top, but not essential.

Please bear in mind also that we don't want any lawsuits, this is just for fun.

Mr_grumpy & Barker accept no responsibility for any offence or upset that this competition may produce, howsoever caused.
The judges decision is final & may not be influenced in any way (unless it's a private box for the whole of the World Series).

Ride an Ahem
Ride the best
Ride a mile
& shuffle the rest of the way on your Zimmer.

Zimmer - the must have accessory for the ahem riding crowd!

(NB: This is all in fun & does not reflect the actual views of the writer as he is old enough to fall within the Ahem demographic & usually takes 48 hours to recover from a 300 mile ride!)

K, so this one was too easy, no creativity, but so ACCURATE.

Nothing runs like an Ahemahem. Except creditors to repossess it.

Genius!

"Our new revolutionary partnering with Life Call, under the rouse of Mature Biker Call, helps aging Ahemahem riders right their barges when they experience a parking lot mishap, or any other bike emergency!"

"Hello, Mature Biker Call, my bike has fallen and I can't get it up!"

Original Life Call ad (sorry, not savvy enough to embed...):

I think there are a wealth of opportunities for other 'Mature Biker *Emergencies*',

we are going to take the same 'classic' platform we have had for twenty five years, remove the dash, add some chrome, put a big tank decal on it, and call it something mean

Are you with me camera guy, because you know we cant do this every year.... well thats not true

What do we have here? Pretty much the same thing, but this time its Rubber mounted
Why rubber
I am glad you asked, rubber makes it betta
yep, its black and squishy
Blam
Look a new model !
Now we are going to change the seat, add bags, and a windshield Blam
Oh no you didnt
Oh I certainly did, but wait that is not all, what would you say if I put the pegs in the MIDDLE of the bike
Madness ?
I know, this is not a sport bike, but really it FEELS sporty.
Blam
Another new bike
oooooh - ahhhhh - ooooooh
And now for the piece resistance
What would you say if we gave you every chrome piece in our catalogue, added our biggest motor, made it a limited production run with no reall color choices and festooned with corporate logos ?......
Why we would say this thing screams !
And right you are !
How much would you pay for something like this?
don't answer just yet, remember the moment you roll it off the lot, you have lots 1/4 in depreciation, and two years later when our economy still sucks, you wont be able to unload it for half of what you owe....
Now what would you pay ?

When infomercials and corporate marketing merge..... and go horribly wrong
