Hi everyone, I am about to purchase the new Droid Bionic, here in the near future and I was wondering, in overall terms. How hard is it to go through 2GB of data in a month? As in exactly what is required to accomplish that (couple examples if feasible), in all honesty it doesnt sound like alot. Thank You! Jake |

2GB is not a lot. Even using mine for just light web browsing and email, I still consume around 100mb a day, even more if I am away from home. Netflix, Youtube, and other videos are pretty much out of the question if you are not on WiFi. |

If you have WiFi, then you won't hardly use it. If not, then you can blow through 2GB in a hurry watching videos. If they don't charge too much for an extra GB overage, then give it a try; you can always upgrade to unlimited later if needed, yes? That's the way AT&T works anyway. |

Nobody except Sprint has unlimited anymore. Verizon will sell you up to 12GB, and you will pay overage fees if you exceed that, and ATT's best plan offers a pitiful 5gb. Sprint will let you get unlimited on 4G for $50. |

Neither AT&T nor Verizon have unlimited plans anymore, unless you were grandfathered in. I typically use less than 500MB per month, on my OG Droid, but I don't watch many vids on it, and I'm connected to WiFi most of the time. |

Check t-mobile for their plan vs. verizon. It was cheaper than anything else out there for me, local carriers were sprint, att, verizon and t-mobile. 2 unlimited (no 2gb cap) data lines, 5 lines total. $163/month total, although I did get a work related discount. I think the same plan from att or verizon was well over $250/month. (Message edited by d_adams on September 08, 2011) |

There are the PCS and MetroCom plans, that are TONS CHEAPER than Verizon The only problem is the coverage areas are not the same. However, I have found PCS coverage where Verison stops. For what it is worth, I am back with Verizon(the bastards) after leaving for one day and having a "Win Back" team member make an offer I couldn't refuse. I was willing to pay the cancellation fee($500), but they did make it right and refunded the cancellation fees, sometimes you just have to payup and walk to make them understand you are serious(the bastards) |

Isn't mobile the carrier that slows down your connection after 2 gig? |

I looked at the new Droid Bionic today at the Verizon store. It's a great phone but kinda pricey! hopefully they will drop some before my contract is due for an upgrade this coming December. |

I went thru this two weeks ago when I upgraded to a Droid 3. I have used 50Mb of my two gigs. I am near a wifi network 75% of the time, and do my downloading there... |

I'm all over the place with mine (st louis) and use it a lot. Never noticed a slow down in speed yet. Battery life sucks though, android phones. |

Keep in mind that you can turn off automatic e-mail refreshes that take battery life and use your data too, this way the e-mail only syncs when you want it to, preferably near wifi... I'm lucky on battery life since my last few phones used the same charger, I have one on the bike, car, home and office... Without constant battery topoffs and average use, mine is dead in 6 hours... |

Unlimited 4G data with Sprint FTW! We pay $197/month for 5 lines, all smart phones with unlimited data, unlimited texts, unlimited mobile-to-mobile (yup, I can call ANY cell phone on ANY network and it doesn't count against my minutes!), 1750 regular minutes, insurance on all 5 lines, accidental drop coverage on all lines etc..I have been VERY happy with Sprint, and it costs me a fraction of other carriers. I'll loften use 10-15 gb on my line in a month. I use it a TON for work (emailing pics is common), and I stream a ton of music. |

To me that defeats the purpose of a smartphone, like having a GPS that only turns on within half a mile of your destination. It is a shame the phone companies crippled their networks and used fear to control us and take our money rather than embracing the technology and giving it room to breathe.

lol. Sprint 4G is strong here too. Now you're going to really hate me, here's a speedtest result in my house on 4g:

"Neither AT&T nor Verizon have unlimited plans anymore, unless you were grandfathered in." Not if you upgrade your phone. Upgrade and you start with a new data plan. |
