Owens, I'm still wondering... What "research" is lacking concerning the EBR 1190RS? For that "lacking research", if the team, whomever it may be, had gone with the GSXR1000, where would they obtain such information? Yes, I know it exists, but where would one obtain it, being new to racing the bike I mean? Are you imagining that competing riders/teams share their setup and tuning notes? I'd LOVE to see the 1190 in person, is there any racing on Monday? It's only 2 hours drive from here. |

From Riders Discount's facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/ridersdiscount#!/ridersdis count Am I reading too much into the Vesrah logo on the bike? I thought it was cool that they let Taylor ride, but could there be more to it than that? I'd love to see Erik Buell Racing and Vesrah working together. |

VESRAH "permitted" Taylor to ride, while Erik Buell Racing helped put the deal together, and of course built the bike. Pretty disappointing not to see even a tiny Erik Buell Racing logo on it.... |

Anony, I might agree, no logo is kinda lame... But, as soon as I see the front wheel, the frame profile, the fairing contours, the spidery subframe... E_B_R is written ALL over it! I may be weird, but being able to look at a machine and recognize FORM WITHOUT LOGOS is supremely enjoyable! I hate NASCAR. |

It seems the 1190RS is being received well at the ridersdiscount facebook page Practice results: Geoff May 11th at 1:23.350 Taylor Knapp 13th at 1:24.092 Overall fastest was 1:21.690 |

Thanks for the info, Anony. With a third place time in Sportbike, Vesrah certainly can't complain that his time on the 1190RS hurt him. I can't imagine it would be a bad thing for anyone who has a minute to pop over to the Riders Discount facebook page and show some love for Taylor and the 1190RS: http://www.facebook.com/#!/ridersdiscount And Darth, if you haven't seen the qualifying times, things were looking up a bit: http://roadracingworld.com/news/article/?article=4 5899 |

Qualifying Geoff May 8th Taylor Knapp 14th Less than 1 second that separates the top eight riders. It should be close, very close. http://wire.amaproracing.com/rr/events/results.cfm ?year=2011&eid=2011011145&discipline=RR&class=SB&t ype=Q&rnum=1&class_sort=SB 1 22 Tommy Hayden Rockstar ·Makita ·Suzuki Suzuki GSX-R1000 FASTEST FASTEST 1:21.005 27 2 23 Ben Bostrom Jordan Suzuki Suzuki GSX-R1000 0.114 0.114 1:21.119 24 3 54 Roger Hayden National Guard Jordan Suzuki Suzuki GSX-R1000 0.155 0.041 1:21.160 26 4 1 Josh Hayes Monster Energy Graves Yamaha Yamaha R1 0.453 0.298 1:21.458 27 5 79 Blake Young Rockstar ·Makita ·Suzuki Suzuki GSX-R1000 0.748 0.295 1:21.753 20 6 72 Larry Pegram Pegram Racing BMW S1000RR 0.862 0.114 1:21.867 27 7 15 Steve Rapp Cycle World Attack Performance Kawasaki ZX-10 0.868 0.006 1:21.873 17 8 99 Geoff May Amsoil Erik Buell Racing Racing Erik Buell Racing 1190RS 0.966 0.098 1:21.971 23 |

From Riders Discount on FB this morning... "Talking to the guys at Erik Buell Racing this morning to see if they have any logos at the track. We didn't even get a look at this beauty until Thursday evening." Good deal. This is pure "American Awesome"! |

Owens, >>> I'll answer your question as soon as you answer the one I've asked you multiple times Which question would that be? If concerning the 1190 engine cases, then it indeed was answered. And in any case, that is a question that you or anyone may answer just as well as I. The question I am asking you, as you hold yourself up as some kind of authority on motorcycle racing, is what exactly you are talking about when you assert that the EBR 1190RS is lacking in research. I have no clue what you mean. Please explain. |

Talking to Erik in the paddock (what a proud father!), Taylors bike was literally a street bike. On Tuesday. And listening to the chatter...people in the pits are taking notice. This is shaping up to be a fun weekend |

Does Taylor's bike employ the new hubless rear wheel? I didn't get a good look at Taylor's bike today. The only time I saw it, it was going by at about 160 mph! Sounds great though. Ratbuell ain't kidding about the buzz in the pits. EVERYONE had nothing but positive comments about the bike. I looked over the carbon for even the slightest blemish....absolutely perfect. The bike is drop dead sexy. Did I mention how great it sounds? |

Wow. The story on the Knapp bike actually got air time. Knapp's bike is an bike bought off the showroom floor(duh), given to Knapp to race. When the race is over, it's going back to the customer for, hopefully street use! Court, get some info on this 1190 owner please! |

Met the guy a few minutes ago. VERY cool fella, he and his son rode to the track on their 1125R's. Total down to earth fella, amazngly nonchalant about it. Just what I like to see Big attitudes and inflated egos piss me off, and this guy is just a normal dude. Very cool stuff. |

And looking out the windshield (we're parked directly across from the Erik Buell Racing pit), they just finished the "fan walk". Erik's pit was an absolute log-jam of people. And now...he's in there with the press AGAIN Definitely garnering a lot of interest! |

It would appear neither 1190 is running hubless rear wheels this weekend. Parts availability and interchangability were the reason; if Taylor needed to change sprockets or needed a wheel, the thought was it was better for both teams to be running the same setup. Using the (slightly) heavier wheel also means less ballast. |
