In my sober feebleness I got up out of my recliner to go to the bathroom this afternoon. I had been dozing through a Sunday afternoon movie to avoid the heat of outdoors. As a matter of fact I had just hung up the phone with Joe, aka Ratbuell, after a call to see how he was doing. Well, on my way back as I was passing my favorite chair to grab a soda from the fridge I heard a "crack" and saw a lightning flash in my head when I noticed I was yelling out in pain.

Damn if I did not break a toe. Shit!

Folks I'm telling you, in spite of what your mother said about motorcycle riding, these reclining chairs can be dangerous!

Now I'll have to find those old boots that were always too big, to wear for the next few days.

Incredible to ride thousands of miles on a motorcycle with expected and historical incidences like this, to break a toe on a reclining chair! Son of a.....

you should have been spending time with your Jeep and that wouldn't have happened.... Like me... today Whitey got a new Dynomax Super Turbo muffler and new tailpipe.
You know what I hate... when you are putting a new muffler on your Jeep and it falls out of the bracket thats holding it and it hits you in da FACE.
Now I have a huge knot/bump/bruise thingy under my left eye....

But that toe thing... now that just hurts.. every time you take a step..

We've had a more or less constant stream of visitors all summer & yesterday we all went up to the top of one of the local mountains, at the top of Col de la Faucille (look on youtube).

Well there were 6 of us so that meant taking 2 vehicles so I graciously let them all go together in 1 car while I took the XB.

Everybody had a good day.

Hope you heal soon, I'm still sore from changing the engine in the Ford last week.

Now there's about the best argument for getting rid of all those 7-seat SUV or minivan monsters on the road I've ever heard.

Ya can figure you are pretty old when at the time you were born dirt had not been invented yet. They had to wait three days to put me down waiting for ground to be laid.

Char, Of course Joe converses with me. We ride Buells!

It is the toe next to the pinky. Sure feels better now. The pressure pretty much went away when the third joint of that toe popped back into place a little while ago.

I'm good to go! It did not get my shifting toes!

Might take the long way around that chair for a while.

Ahhhhh! Finally I can wear my normal shoes again. It still feels like it is a size larger toe than what it originally was.

I give that chair a wider birth than normal still. Just sad being attacked by a piece of furniture like that.

Like the sargent on Hill Street Blues used to say "Let's be careful out there!"

"You want a toe? I can get you a toe"(The Big Lebowski)
I broke my big toe when a slide hammer bead breaker came apart on me and the "hammer end" found home.....limped a month or so and didn't know it was even broke till years later when discovered it doesn't bend at the joint......

Pictures or it didn't happen.

Let me say this about that.....Now that it is pretty much over, since the beautiful colors of purple green and brown are gone, I'm glad it didn't happen!

But I am still giving that chair a little more room.
