Read some history on leftist take overs of countrys light and get back to us.
YES your gov has run extermination camps. Remember the afore mentioned Trail of Tears! Why do you think Obama has the health service setting up swat teams. His civilian Security force as well equipted as the military. Notice the health service bypassed the Defense Dept answers only to executive branch. Sounds like somebody is starting a new SS.

Metra, I don't necessarily buy everything that vid is trying to sell, but if Amtrak merely inherited some over-sized train maintenance buildings they plan on demolishing.......why would they install new gas lines and furnaces?? Usually when the armed forces surplus excess property don't they paint over or out the identifiers? Isn't Amtrak still having major fiscal problems? Are they in expansion or contraction? What's the Red Zone in R.R. parlance? One more ?, if it's merely an innocuous Amtrak facility why doesn't it have any of the typical R.R. signage? The security turnstile ingresses are interesting too for a simple R.R. facility.....

Again, not really buying the full package, but to me there is more than meets the eye on initial inspection. I know of some interesting "dead" facilities in the N.E. that have seen serious influx of capital improvements in the last few years. While most Government facilities are seeing serious cutbacks. Or it could be storage for more $10K hammers and $50K toilets. I'll bet the lost Ark is in there. Who knows, it doesn't seem like real money to Washington when you just ask Timmy to print more.......

I do not consider the United States a shithole.

Nor do I. I agree that this is the greatest nation in the history of the world. What angers me is when people choose to destroy it from within instead of working to add their uniqueness and abilities to it.

My point in quoting it wasn't the shit hole part. It was the democracy part.

I'm not picking a fight with you.

The thing that makes this country great and has made this country great for 200+ years is our Constitution. Our framers created a unique form of government that balanced a limited central government with 50 individual "nations" (original meaning of state at the time of the drafting).

There were a limited number of things that the Framers designated for this central government to do and no more. Any power NOT SPECIFICALLY granted to the Federal government was a power reserved for these individual states.

This form of government is called republicanism (small r not big r).

Once you destroy this unique form of government, you destroy what allows this nation to be great. The destruction of this form of government is achieved by allowing the centralized Federal government to usurp the powers of the individual states and grant itself powers not specifically given to it.

Once you destroy the document that limits the powers of the Federal government, you destroy the protections provided to the people. "Emergency Powers" should be as frightening as Fascism, Genocide, or Holocaust.

Remove the Constitution and what specifically prevents the Federal government from doing whatever it wants?

Lightstick, please do not misunderstand me. I love this country like no other. If needed, I will defend her. I'm old and not combat ready, but my finger still works, and I'm pretty stealthy. My concern is that we have the strongest, best armed, best trained fighting force in the world. We can roll into an decimate just about any country on the planet we choose to invade. We restrain that power, but we have it. My concern is when that force is directed inward toward the civilians of this nation.

We have seen time and time again where nations believed that "it couldn't happen here", and yet it does.

The Romans, the Germans, the Italians, the Russians, the Chinese, the Koreans, the Viet Namese, the Cambodians, the Cubans, the Iranians. Add to that list, the Egyptians.

It's only a matter of time before Egypt is swallowed by Islamic fascism.

It can happen here. We aren't different. It's the restraints on our government that make us different. Unfetter those, and we are destined to become one of the nations on the list.

I went by that place not too long after that video was made...maybe 10-15 years ago. What struck me as odd was there were no vehicles there, and those gas lines were huge and exposed going into some sort of box type fixture that did not look anything like a building heater, nor were there any exhaust stacks. If you google map the area there are train turn tables going into the buildings, so I could just be paranoid also...

Time to lay low, get a nap; see you again when the skype is back up over Kiev for lunch

3500 armed commissioned cadre officers, no state jurisdiction, no DOD/Joint Chiefs oversight, respondent directly to the executive branch. In a time of budgetary 'crisis' with vague missions structure that already is redundant against National Guard directives... especially since most of those troops are rotating home prior to the 2014 go date for this bill......

it doesnt add up - unless you remember the lessons of WTO and need a security force that is not limited to the response and directives of the governor.

and the FEMA 'casket liners' dont add up either. I did time in the mortuary business - they pour individual slabs (and at significant upcharge ) for each grave; those are of a size, width, and depth, that they could not/ would not be used in any commercial funeral home in the country. They are contamination containment containers, to mitigate ground leaching from multible bodies in a hole. The only other explanation is contaminated livestock ....
Lessons learned from Bosnia and the contaminated ground water there

On the rail head facilities - I would have to see some more aerial shots, but the access and entry, boundry wire, is consistent with off load / on load processing station, not a detention/internment facility.

Still doesnt explain why again in a time of budgetary crisis, a maximum security prison gets taken off line for incarcerated prisoners, gets picked up as a DSHS facility under the guidance of the HHS, and a new helicopter pad.
The math, intent, and facility doesnt add up with improved healthcare - at all.

And if you want someone to quit apologizing for America.... Start with the guy in the big alabaster house at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.

Good old Joe Stalin didn't do much apologizing for the USSR, now, did he? He also rather enjoyed eliminating damn near everyone who he thought was either not doing enough, or who wasn't loyal enough.
I really don't see the US President in the White House as being even remotely in his league.
Now, since the Ukraine is such a great place to live, and the women there are much more attractive than American women, and your incredible talents will be useful and in demand there, why are you still in such an inferior screwed up country with such drab and ugly women? You've converted your assets so that you can live comfortably in the land milk and honey. So what's keeping you here in this totally screwed up hellhole of Capitalistic Pigs?
Personally, Comrade, I think you are just staying here to try to subvert pride in a country that's a large cut above your chosen paradise.

Uly, I wonder about the vintage of the video. It was uploaded in 2006, but when was it recorded? The link I included in my post is from a 2007 tour of the facility. At the time of the video, the facility may have been undergoing major renovations. The new gas lines are likely for a new heating system. Those are large buildings and would require lots of gas to heat. There will also be air filtration units for the paint shop and locomotive exhaust. You will see some of those items in the link. The red, blue and green zones may have been material staging areas. We don't use color coded zones, but other railroads do to indicate such things as close clearances, car repair, and fueling areas.
There really isn't much signage inside the yard. The light tower is a remnant, we still have a few but they are non-functional. If they're structurally sound, it's cheaper to leave them in place. As for the turnstiles, I'm stumped.

What happens when you turn off the government benefits for a large portion of the population?

How did that work in Greece?

We have bred a couple of generations of feral humans who aren't educated, aren't motivated, and feel that they are entitled. When the government no longer delivers their lifestyle to them each month, what's to prevent them from simply taking it?

What will the government response be to massive city wide riots in multiple places?

When the riots hit TN or TX or where a large portion of the citizenry are armed and the riots become armed conflicts, what will the government response be?

Capitalism WORKS if meely minded meddling pedantic succophant politicians stay out of the markets and its activity. Quit trying to make basic economic processes into exchanges or 'rights'.
I am not a big fan of Marxism; I do however UNDERSTAND it; because if you want to know what your enemy is up to, you study their systems, learn their activity, motivations and production. War fighting is an extension of economic cycle - your ability to launch, wage, sustain and conquer in a conflict is heavily dependent upon your economic model and your means of production/supply. And the final component is ideology of that supply and production - because in radical situations (AFGHANISTAN/Japan) the notions of determined suicidal indoctrinated and devout radicals will offset some of the requirements of supply v demand and its limitations. ie Kamikaze pilot trading one plane for a full carrier. It is a decision the Americans dont understand, cant wrap around as a practice and so are suprised by it every time.. the USS California incident in the Gulf, and of course the World Trade Center. x 2.

I have a degree in Russian International Studies, with a minor in 'Command Economics' 3o credits in Soviet/Marxist/Hegel/Lenin/Stalin/Mao/Castro. And two market joint ventures with Green Grocer, and Kolsilyini fisheries in Poland.

I never thought I would see Marxist Communist Socialist programs, precepts, and projects promoted, embraced and gain support in America.

Of course Stalin never apologized for the Soviet and his purges. Would a rosey happy circle with tricolor motif make you feel better about the killing ?

This president has done nothing but apologize for America being American. If wish to talk about wanting to subvert pride, lower international standing and perceptions, extinguish American exceptionalism; look no further than the guy at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.

And I didnt equate him to Stalin- I equated him to Lenin. And if you have read Lenin - you know that is an adept pairing. We have yet to have our 'Stalin', that is next - 2016

and of course Ukraine is not a milk & honey paradise, it has its own problems, and its own failures; but for my capabilities and paranoia - I like my chances there better.
I just accepted the position on the 24th. I submitted the work visa process on the 30th. I will move forward to Kiev once that work visa and residency is granted. I expect by the holidays, if not sooner.

(and in a global world economy, they have internet there; including Microsoft, Google, IBM, KLM, UPS, AXA, Kraft, RJ, Pfizer, Visa, etc..... http://www.chamber.ua/company_list) And it is an EXPANDING market, with increasing investments, and individual entrepreneurial opportunities.

and maybe you should look at International Living.com - they have well tracked the American exodus for retirement and investment for 25 years. Most of the money is landing in Panama, Costa Rico - but indeed, the diaspora is on - welcome to the party pal. (Hell even the new Die Hard movie is being filmed in Moscow)

and surely there are American women that are attractive physically - but if you have been out on the American dating field in the last 5 years; you should be well aware of why I and thousands of other men are choosing foreign brides. I just happen to be relocating there for my fiance.
(and over the last 15 years, I have helped nearly 400 local Microsofties or their Alumni startups to connect, date, and marry Russian FSU women. They all seem to be pretty happy (minus the 5% that got divorced in that time frame - but again it is not an absolute guarantee, it is however the global market answer to a failed domestic application - the American rate of divorce is nearly 50% for first marriages, more for your second rounds)

"Currently, the largest of these facilities is just outside of Fairbanks, Alaska. The Alaskan facility is a massive mental health facility and can hold approximately 2 million people."
WTF!!!!!!
that is the BIGGEST crock of sheite iv ever heard.
There is NOTHING in Alaska that can house 2mill people, unless you count the tractless expanse of wilderness and give them all tents.
Im an Alaskan and have spent my life flying all over this state and i can tell you first hand that no facility existes.
i dont think the states population has even hit a million yet.
it sucks that ignorant statements like this get any airtime or attention at all.

The only way you could get to a two million number is by adjusting the number to over the entire lifespan of the facility... and of course in a world of federal funding, the 'need' maybe designated as millions, the actual capability is of course far less.

Intrigued by the Alaska notion, there must be some supporting hyperbole about it out there somewhere. I am bored, it is the weekend, off to search the stacks.

Brian,

>>> the American rate of divorce is nearly 50% for first marriages, more for your second rounds)

Last I heard it was around 30% for first marriages and around 50% for all marriages.

The stats you are quoting may be tainted by poor statistical method, taking the number of marriages and the number of divorces for a current year, and thus failing to account for the span of years over which the marriages took place and a declining marriage rate.

I could be wrong. I thought I read a pretty good analysis of the issue by Ann Coulter not too long ago. I think that's where I got the 30%/50% figures.

the only thing Alaska is capable of housing millions of are mosquitos, caribou, salmon, and tourists.
what i think got these people going about a "mental Health facility" is that a shit load of land up here is held in a "mental health trust" which the government (state i think) sells off from time to time for funding.
Well actually the whole state could be considered a Mental health facility cuz were all a bit whakky.

Adak? Adak? I spent a bit of time there back in the early 70s. The Adak National Forest, planted in WW2, had no trees taller than me. Tied up in Finger Bay, have a picture of 52 eagles dining at the Adak dump. Used to hold out herring while wearing a welding glove and, given enough patience, had one that would come by and grab the fish on the fly. Lotta whales outside the entrance to the bay, go visit them in a skiff. They've turned it back over to the Aleuts. Never saw the rain fall vertically. Willowa, birthplace of the wind.

"Would the US military turn against their own......the citizens of the US ...if ordered to do so?"

I hesitate to even entertain this one, but here it goes.....

It's not so much "would they turn against their own", but how far would the mayhem drag them into the "S". Simply put, if the regular armed forces are brought into regain control of major *****? things have really turned for the worse. Try to imagine the London riots X 100, 1000....or worse. Of course any/all first responders and extended attack support resources (i.e. Nat Guard) are going to do everything within reason to re-establish order. When innocents start dieing at the hands of the rioters, when gov't & private business grinds to a halt in affected areas EVERYONE is going to be screaming MAKE IT STOP NOW. And we will, martial law, bring out the big dogs, encircle with big might and squeeze until it quiets down... It is most clearly not an Us vs Them as they are Us too. But when the fabric of "civil" society has fallen apart things can get awfully murky in a big hurry...

disclaimer; I do not think this is on the horizon, don't wish for it, nor think it will happen. But I am observant enough of history and current events to realize how fragile this life as we know it really is.....

Read back up about my units history in WTO. We were on ground, live, ready and loud. We were not carrying billy clubs, and they were not rubber bullets.
M-16, M-4, and Moss 500A (my favorite) with live rounds - waiting the call to shoot.
We had already labelled the protestors as eco terrorists, and targets of interest. knew who the leaders where, and had plans in action for movement.
We did not have the Governors authorization to roll. It is one of the KEY reasons the new USPHS cadre is not respondant to the military, governor chain of command.
And the notions and parameters of 'Resilience' is EXACTLY, how to react, mitigate and operate force in a martial law 'crisis' situation.
Your other consideration to take into account is the drone capabilities that take the engaged pilot interaction with the fire no fire decision dilemnas -... and those drones are now waiting for the next 'crisis'. Predator with hellfire or chain guns, does an incredible mess of down town corridors where you cant get a helicopter or plane.

In reality thats what it would take to regain control of the situation and we would all rationalize it. How far would you go to regain calm and order with riots in your neighborhood? i know id be on my roof with a hunting rifle looking for the ring leaders, and all of you would be to.

What happens when the "kill list" becomes those who lawfully own firearms?

Unlike the UK, the rioters here will be armed. The bloodshed won't be 5. It'll be 5,000.

Instead of cracking down on the armed rioters, the order will be the confiscation of ALL firearms.

What happens when civilians NOT rioting are ordered to disarm forcibly?

It won't just be thugs on the "kill list". It will be you and me. I'm NOT voluntarily disarming. I suspect many here won't either.
