SO I need a favor. There was a thread a while back that had a link to some of the worst motorcycle death pics i've ever seen. I would look at it each year as a reminder on why I wear my gear. I have a friend that needs such a reminder and i am unable to find the link. This in no way a morbid curiosity type thing and more a scared straight attempt. thanks | ||

It was Ride to Die I believe but everything I'm finding on Google seems to point to it no longer existing. I found an old link on a sport bike forum and said it was locked. | ||

Remember eventhough the article says accident when you are going 100 plus on a city hwy it is NOT an accident. Also I have seen this posted where people say he lived. He was killed instantly. When i was 12 years old i saw a horrible motorcycle accident where some guy on a bike was speeding in the city and didn't see a semi making a left turn and he ran the light and went under the tractor trailer and it decapitated his head and the bike went 2 more blocks before smashing into 3 parked cars. It was very gory. | ||

@Sifo: Exactly my point. This was a very tragic wreck I do admit. Whats worse is this article has been passed around on boards throughout the net and a lot places I have seen it, the comments are rarely accurate. Some say he lived? Goodness look at the pics. The fellow is NOT alive. The semi was doing normal speed and felt his truck shift barely and seen debris flying past him as he was still rolling. He got out of his truck and thats what he found. 2AM in the morning and not a single other vehicle on a 4 lane highway and the bike ass ends him. Oddly enough it happened in Tulsa (my home) but I was showed these photos 2 days after I bought my bike back in 2007. Needless to say it made an impression on me. Remember people, gear can only do so much. Riding a street bike is dangerous. Riding a street bike like you were on the track is just dumb. God rest his soul. | ||

Oh he was very dead. no amount oh gear will save you from rear ending a semi at over a hundred. | ||

and from personal experience...this was low speed, in proper gear...and hitting a pole.  and that's after the REVISION. that would be my right calf, where both my tibia and fibula exited my leg. 23 staples. skin graft. muscle wrap. and a titanium rod from the knee to the ankle held in place with six screws, between 1" and 2.5" long. and looking at it full size, yes...that would be a drain hose coming out the back. gear up, folks. trust me. the shit hurts. That is ironic Boliver.I was in Tulsa for steward school when that happened.I bought a Ducati the day before that shop closed in Tulsa and went riding that night and when I got back to my trailer that crash was on the news.The bike was broke completely in two. |
