My leather jacket has a problem where the zipper will slowly work it's way open. At a certain point it will then suddenly open the rest of the way. I think I must have got some Synth oil on the zipper.

Any ideas for a remedy?

Zipper sliders are supposed to have a spring-loaded latch that opens after the handle is pulled. Is yours not equipped with one?

I used to rub a little surfboard wax on the outside of my zippers to keep water from coming in... it also made them harder to open and close.

Spot on, Nate! I never know the zipper has a latch. I looked again and now I can see that there is a latch but the spring is not working. Now to find out if I can find a place around here that can install a replacement slider.

Pwnzor, I was going to try sex wax. I dug out my snowboard wax and it has evaporated. I'll try to rob a candle.

Thanks

Mebbe a safety pin, or a ziptie, or both.

Or, hang it out in the rain, wait for it to rust a little.

Find a little ole lady who knows how to sew leather, and she'll fix it.
