Something I've noticed about parking here in Germany. I've noticed that it seems if you are on a motorcycle you can park just about anywhere, sidewalks or otherwise. I've never seen a motorcycle use a parking garage or paid parking space. Is this allowed in Germany or is it just one of those things that no one worries about?

as long as you don't obstruct anything major you can park pretty much anywhere. I can think of 1 ticket in over 10 years of riding there. You also split lanes and it is accepted that you are quicker from A to B in a dense city than with a car. I remember the first time I rode to the front of a stop light in SC, passing 10 waiting cars. It is dangerous over here..... :-)
