Credit rating got nicked.

I can only HOPE that will CHANGE the congress critters approach to salvaging the credit rating by cutting spending.

It's no different for a country than it is for individuals.

When you are in over your head in debt you lose your freedom.

The United States ranked #18 in terms of creditworthiness among the world's nations.

We will have to strive to catch Canada.

I agree with the morning news. . . Obama will not be remember as the first black president but as the president who did the most damage to the USA during his term.

What an embarrassment and what a display of gross incompetence.

"Hope and change" huh?....... That was fun.

I loved the description of Geithner and The Bama ...... "when you open these guys refrigerator door ... No light comes on "

Idiots in the cockpit.

Gold might well go to $2500, the adjusted for inflation rate to equal $800 from the damage Jimmy Peanut caused.

Silver is the poor man's gold, if anyone wants in.

Reminds me of liberals talking about the Great Depression, "Hoover caused it!" all the while ignoring that Roosevelt stretched the recovery way out past 1937, the year he fiddled things wrong in the wrong direction at the direction of his socialist buddies.

Of course it's a double dip recession, as the first one was never over. This is a CORRECTION.

Funny how the Mr. Market doesn't listen to politicians, and politicians ignore the history of Mr. Market.

I've been riding the SLV up and down and am having a ball...... Key is jumping in and out.

I made a special bet for the big guys 1300 address to the nation. I've "shorted" the community organizer. I'm betting the terms " inherited this economy" and "tea party downgrade" make my special metals bet pay off

The market and the world are laughing as the Chicago amateurs simply fiddle with the levers while congress is taking a 3 week vacation and my main man ridesvaround on a bus tour.

These folks wouldn't last a day in the private sector with their own marbles at risk.

I am, out of simple courtesy, intending to write a thank you letter for bolstering and hastening my retirement.

I was checking foreign papers yesterday (German, French, Norwegian):
The verdict across the pond in public opinion can be summed up by Bachman's words.

Mr. Obama is AWOL (quoted in the french paper LeMonde).

What Obama and the congress needs to understand is grabbing that much credit on the world market is bad foreign policy.

Many past wars were fought over assets. Future wars might be fought over available credit.

I am so furious - words can not describe it!

I doubt this guy has EVER accepted responsibility.

I defer to Court's incorrigible optimism.

As a contrarian, I always bet against the herd.

I'm listening to my president as I type, trying not to fall off my chair in a laughing fit.

Blame the Republicans, sluff the blame off on his shoulders while burdening the folk with taxes. Hey, someone give this guy a history lesson.

Can you wait till tomorrow?........ I moved my entire portfolio into GLD for a single day and he's busy helping me retire.

He's not busy tomorrow.

Market's in free fall . . . So he's going to a fund raiser tonight and is off tomorrow.

Congress will be back in a couple weeks . . You might want them to help him.

Maybe it is just the Monday Morning Blues but it seems likely that Obama is going to be reelected. It is incomprehensible that so many people are willing to overlook the mountain of fact that Obama is ineffective and is an incapable leader. There are dunderheads who will vote for him solely based on his race.

Maybe it is just Monday morning. Maybe not.

Look........ If Obama couldn't get himself motivated to address the nation following the shooting down of the helo full of SEALS .....which he did as an after though today...... He's no clue as to what's happening.

He was making references to " in the coming months we will explore"....... He's an eloquent speaker who is totally in over his head.

Market dropped almost 200 points from the moment he opened his mouth.

It'd be a great time to have a leader.

Oh wait ....... I think some of the Generals already used that line.

Edit: Fixed it. Thanks. We did a quick NYC to Kansas and back and I was typing in the car.

Edit2: Sorry for this departure from the subject. When Obama finally, after 3 days, got around to appearing in public to mention, as a sidebar, the death of 30 American Servicemen, I was aghast. Leaders should lead . . not cower away on a bus figuring out who to blame. Leaders, real leaders, seek to unite a nation no matter how ominous the peril we face or how futile hope may seem. This Chicago thug has been spending time convincing old folks they'll be tossed off cliffs and finding folks. . not kidding he actually blamed the earthquake today, for his stupid financial moves. . . to blame. East to see why Michelle Obama was so ashamed for so long. It took Reagan, when we had our collective hearts ripped out, no time to take charge and lead.

quote:

On Jan. 28, 1986, Ronald Reagan was scheduled to give his State of the Union address. In a meeting with a bi-partisan delegation of congressional leaders, he and House Speaker Thomas P. "Tip" O'Neill Jr. tangled over the issue of unemployment.

After they left, Reagan prepared to have the traditional State of the Union lunch with the network anchors while receiving a last-minute briefing from acting press secretary Larry Speakes when several members of the White House staff rushed in with news that the Space Shuttle Challenger had exploded after takeoff.

The State of the Union speech was postponed, and in what he would later describe as "one of the hardest days I ever spent in the Oval Office," his speechwriting staff began drafting a very different kind of address. It was delivered at 5 p.m., and although only 648 words in length, it is still remembered as perhaps the most inspiring of his presidency.
