an amazing race ,but way to hot. pruett was nice by giving me an autograph and pic,, it has taken me 4 years to get that pic and autoggraph and now i have it. | ||

very nice, i was watching it on tv today And i have a similar picture from three years ago at the 24HRs of Daytona.....but my shirt was still on  Nice guy. Great driver. I always pull for the 01 | ||

yeah i wish i had my shirt on but it was 98 without the humidity so i was really hot i had to take it off. and yes the 01 is a great car/team always a great race. i also know the guys at the 31 welhen team but unfortunately 2 years in a row they where taken out by a lapped driver..bs | ||

yeah i was bummed for Said and the team about that, really sucked. Said is a great driver, and, again, a nice guy. There were two guys i HAD to get a pic with an auto from - Pruett and Said. Mission accomplished in 08. And then got autographs this past year as well. Do you ever make it down for the daytona race? I try to go down there as much as i can, about every other year If you head down there next Jan let me know, I SHOULD be there  | ||

nice i would love to go to the daytona race but i do not know if it is possible but i will try work and money always have an issue with it. nice pic with him. i wanted to get rohas also but i could nopt find him,, i also go to the watkins glen races that is fun. | ||

daytona aint cheap, four day pass is like 80 bucks or so And I always get a hotel room on Friday night (this last year I went down Thursday, arriving thursday night, so I had a room thursday night as well) But come saturday night - i sleep in my car. Now I have a pathfinder, fairly roomy.....but I've slept in a MR2 before  For me the key to staying in the car is being at the track the whole time - watch racing and walk around from noon til 8, go get dinner, come back and nap for two hours, get up at 1 or so and watch racing for a couple hours, then nap a bit and then up again until I leave. Works out great. That helps on some of the money Im like 8 or 9 hours from daytona, so gas sucks They run VIR which is very close to me, about an hour or so, but its middle of summer and i always have other things going on or its too humid for me to want to be there. Thats the other thing I love about Florida in January - its not too hot. shorts or jeans and a tee during the day. Add a hoodie for night I've not met rojas either. This year at Daytona they were beside of jimmy johnson and the gainsco team during autographs, so it was WAY packed over there, so I misssed out on Rojas and Montoya. Same for the other end of pits cause Patrick Dempsey was there, people were lined up even further for his line, I'll pass on that. But the 24 Hour race is a good experience, hope you make it down sometime plus this coming up year is the 50th anniversary.....AND they are debuting the new cars (DP will be gen 3 starting at that race), so it'll be a good race to be at. | ||

i met dempsey do not have any pics but met him.. and i am 550 miles from nc so about 1000 from florida its kinda pricey for me. | ||

@Hybridmomentspass In your post you mentioned MR2s, VIR and 24 hour endurance races. I'll be driving a MR2 in the ChumpCar VIR 24 this weekend. What's the worst that could happen? | ||

Ah, Lemons? Im assuming Gen 1? I had a Gen 2, turbo. LOVED IT. Hmmm a buell and MR2 fan at VIR, im not too far from there, MAYBE I can make it up there. Temp depending (if its super humid Im not trying to hang outside) When you going to be there, more details! | ||

It's a MkII with a 96 Camry 3.0L V6 swap, about the same power as a stock turbo with more torque, less weight and can run 87 octane. There will be a few other MR2s there as well. Its like a mr2 convention in here, used to own a 89 stripper model that i did a gze swap into. I miss that car, sold it to get the buell. |
