Thank anyway. She is headed to the 4 corners area. It sounded like possibly a primary chain adjustment issue to me. But I was trying to find someone in the area that could listen to it. I couldn't hear it over the phone. She just had it serviced by a dealer in Ga. If anyone reads this and is in the path that she may be traveling.....Please watch this thread. | ||

Southbound to Gallup or eastbound to Durango? If it's the former, between Moab and Gallup, there ain't a whole lot of safe havens and I would think hard about making that run with a gimpy machine, especially a female type after dark ... there are some good wrenches in Moab, maybe Cortez... Shiprock can be a bit sketchy. | ||

In Escalante, UT, there is a guy called the Desert Doctor. He has a shop there and has worked on Buells. He told me when I was there (found him on the way to the World superbike races) that he is the only shop for 200 miles in any direction. Pammy Not presuming anything.. just sayin' from first hand experience that the 4 Corners and points south can get a bit weird, especially the week after the checks come in. I'm sure all will work out fine. | ||

If she gets to the four corners area there is a Harley/Buell dealer in Farmington, I think. If they head towards Albuquerque, I would be able to help. I have a pickup, and Thursday/Friday off. | ||

She made it to Grand Junction. It was the compensating sprocket. I told her that is what I thought it was but the sound over the cell connection was a bit garbled. You guys are awesome. Thanks for all your attention. It is good to know there would have been someone that I would trust to help her in case the worst happened. | ||

Excellent ! . . glad it worked out. I was getting ready to dangle a "bounty" for someone to get to her and get it fixed. Kinda cool that you were able to carry out an "over a cell phone connection diagnosis". Where were you when my transmission (all #3,000 of it) went out yesterday . . .even **I** knew that sound!  | ||
