Just found out I'm headed their next month for the first time. My buddy decided that he'd rather do that than party in Wis. Go figure. My only regret is that my Buell can't come with me because I've always wanted to tear through the desert. Oh well I'm sure i can find something to occupy my time.... |

Bringing the bike would probably be cheaper than the other entertainments in vegas... have fun! |

To me, Vegas is all sizzle and no steak. But then, I'm an old cynical fart. I'm sure you'll have a blast. Party on, dude! |

I do think 'Dig This' is a cool idea for something to do. Then again, I do the same thing daily for my job and get paid for it. |

The tonka toys "dig this" looks somewhat fun, but i'd rather rent for some thing on my property if i wanted to play... I'd look at the indoor skydiving for entertainment personally. If you ever do get into jumping the time spent "in air" indoors helps your body position when you actually do jump. Considering each jump you get maybe 45-55 sec of freefall, vs the 15 min indoors... good practice. AND a blast (pun intended). hehehe. Have fun! |

Riding through the desert is one of the coolest things I've ever done. Rent a bike and go do it. You can do Death Valley and back in an afternoon or so, easily (though I'd leave early and try to beat the heat as best you can). |

Go see the skywalk over the Grand Canyon if you want to do something truly "once in a lifetime". www.grandcanyonskywalk.com (Message edited by dannyd on July 13, 2011) |

+1000000 on the skywalk. They squeeze you for all of your money but it is worth it! Reminder: crossing Hoover dam = different time zone. My wife and I drove out there with "almost an hour to spare" NOPE. Had to drive out the next day again! We drove that dodge 300 rental over the 11 mile gravel road for two round trips!! Took it like a champ. Got to play dukes of hazzard with the rear wheel drive too. |

Do like we did, and ride out to Area 51 (near Rachel, NV, about 100 miles ~north) just to say you've been there: http://www.dreamlandresort.com/ |

My favorite watering hole in Lost Wages: http://doubledownsaloon.com/ Free live music and lots of weirdness to enjoy. And remember... winners don't keep the lights on in that town. |

Heh. Last time I was in Vegas, I did three days on the track at Vegas International Nice thing about being out there, though...you don't really have to change your body's "time zone setting". Not like they're gonna shut stuff down early on you out there! |

I"m a museum geek and the NEWEST Smithsonian museum is the Atomic Testing Museum. It's on Flamingo just outside the main drag. http://www.atomictestingmuseum.org/index.asp The area has an impressive test history with the above ground testing and underground tests done there since the end of WWII |

crossing Hoover dam = different time zone. Except in the summer. Arizona does not use daylight savings time so in the summer they are the same as Nevada, Cali, etc. |
