The thread on how many Buells were sold got me wondering if Erik is getting a New VIN identifier or simply going to use the older Buell VIN. Anybody know? I would think he would have to get a new one, but one never knows. |

How could they use the "older one"? The VIN's are to Erik Buell Racing,LLC. |

Court... I was 99.99% sure they couldn't. But wasn't sure what their new WMI code was, or if they had one. Obviously, I'm just not keeping up with things as fast as others. (Hey, I think I've been told that a time or two when I was in grade school too!). Wayne |

You don't have to delete your thread if you put Erik Buell Racing in the title, just give me a min to fix it |

Erik Buell Racing has zero to do with Buell (a wholly owned and controlled subsidiary of Harley-Davidson, Inc.) and has gone through months and months and piles and piles of paperwork to become a bona fide manufacturer under the laws of the USofA. |

I'm curious how they intend the new brand to be known. During the pre-race bit on the 1190RS on Saturday, Geoff referred to it as the E-B-R 1190RS (not Erik Buell Racing 1190RS). IIRC, Erik said something a while back about hoping E-B-R would one day be a brand like "BMW". So, should we be referring to Erik Buell Racing or E-B-R when we go to register our new motorcycles in a year or two? |

General Motors = GM Bayerische Motoren Werke AG (Bavarian Motor Werks) = BMW Aufrecht, Melcher and Großaspach = AMG I'd go with E.B.R. It'll get like saying "I know..." when people tell you you have a headlight out on an XB, when everybody asks "what's E.B.R.?"...but that's a GOOD thing! |

>>>So, should we be referring to Erik Buell Racing or E-B-R when we go to register our new motorcycles in a year or two? You won't have any choice . . that's what it says on the MSO and on the headstock of the motorcycle. |

I wonder how insurance companies and DMVs are going to handle the new Erik Buell Racing bikes? I know that in Texas my S2 was registered as a Harley Sportster as they did not have Buell in their system at the time. |

You can register it under Buick or Bricklin |

>>>You can register it under Buick or Bricklin Hahahaha . . . I still recall that day, at the court house on 6th Street, as the young gal told me that. I should have told her "BOTH" . . she was serious as a heart attack . . "There is no such thing as a BUELL, it must be either a Bricklin or a Buick". Nope the new ones say Erik Buell Racing,LLC on the headstock and the paperwork. They are a fully, ain't like it didn't take long enough or involve enough paperwork, fully certified and government recognized manufacturer of motor vehicles. |

By the way . . it is E-B-R, not the Erik Buell Racing that Badweb morphs it to. |
