I'll be doing a 2 up ride in a couple weeks, and it would be nice if we could talk.

I'm not ready to drop $200 plus for a setup we might use once every 4 years.

How do the throat mic's work? I'm thinking a couple of those with FRS radios might do well, if the throat mic is wind noise proof... that would get me under $100, and the kids would have a lot of fun with them as well when we are not on bike.

Trust me, once you use a nice Scala Rider intercom, you will be using more than once per 4 years. Since you like old and cheap things, there is a used set of the Scala Rider Q2 in the classifieds here.

I use the interphone F4 (similar - slightly sub Scala).

Intercom works well and is nice when riding w/ the GF. I also enjoy the music via BT from my phone and voice dial when needed.
