Have been trying to order some race parts from Erik Buell Racing but cannot get anybody to answer the phone. Cannot order online as they are not set-up for dealers (which I am one) to order online.

Does anybody have a way to go knock on their door (not really just like a secret phone number or something) and tell them to call me? I want to spend some money and help support Erik Buell Racing!!!

tell them my phone number is 303-702-1600

Since their first race with the 1190RS is at mid-Ohio this coming weekend (see several threads about it), I'd suspect they're all too busy to answer right now.

I see you are pretty new here. I would leave a message and I am sure someone will get back to you. Erik and the Elves are good people and unless you are trying to get something airmailed out today I am guessing the order is not a matter of Life or Death.

And actually, racing does pay the bills for him... read this article http://www.jsonline.com/business/125053554.html

Hi Danny!

I've had pretty good luck shooting them emails at their info email address.

info@ebracing.com

I've actually never tried calling since email has usually been at most a day or two.

All those records my team currently holds at Bonneville were just luck.

Use the email info@ebracing.com . Have a nice clear concise subject, and a nice clear and straight forward body. You'll be rewarded with a very helpful email back. Works every time!

The problem is for me to do a dealer order I HAVE to talk to them on the phone. I don't need any info, I just need to place an order and for that I need to speak to a live person.

Many wouldn't be as trusting (maybe I'm just young and naive)

I would send the email with description of parts you want, part numbers, your dealer number or code or whatever it is you need to place that type of order, and payment information. I'd keep a copy of the email for my own records and protection. The rest would remain in the hands of a trustworthy American business, and a reliable credit monitoring service.

The email will open the door to that. Honestly try it!

Subject: Dealer Order

Body: What you like to do(straight forward and clear) and a contact #.

trust me.

e-mail has been sent as well as voice mail messages left.

BTW,
I have also applied to become an Erik Buell Racing motorcycle dealer using their application on the Erik Buell Racing website. That was done over 3 weeks ago and I have not heard anything back from them. I am a staunch Buell supporter but lets face it they need to be able to sell bikes if they are to stay in business. at this time can anybody tell me where i can buy a new 1190?

I have had folks calling me in CO asking if I was going to be selling them from buyers who can afford them. At this time I cannot answer the question.

And sorry but I would never send my credit card info to an unsecured e-mail address. That is just insane to even suggest that. has nothing to do with Erik Buell Racing but everything to do with the internet.

Most companies offer a dealer log-in to their website where we type in our name and password and then it will bring up dealer prices to order. Unfortunately the Erik Buell Racing site does not offer that at this time.

Danny

I am going to assume for the time being that you are for real.

I believe you will get a response as soon as they can. For the time being from what i understand they are working their butts off to get things finished. They are most likely understaffed due to the nature of their current business. (Thanks again HD) I also trust that once they get over this initial hump you I and all the rest will be very satisfied.

Although this is all just speculation and perhaps someone who knows what they are talking about can shed some light on it for you.

I had heard a rumor that almost all the 1190 presales were filled.

I can't validate that at all but that would be a reason that you can't buy one and why they are so busy.

I believe that info was from the Geoff May interview via podcast a couple weeks back. (can't remember the source)

Many interpreted what he said to mean that all 100 are spoken for. Sounded to me more like 37 were built at the time, and all 37 were spoken for.

Yes I am very much for real. I am the owner of NRHS V-Twin if people did not know that.

I currently own 9 Buells.

I see your point. Now I feel stupid for giving you my credit card info over a non-secure telephone line last week when ordering parts. Sure hope it doesn't fall into the wrong hands. [\sarcasm]

Sorry for the hijack. I'm leaving now.

Please understand that as this site has had its fair share of board tolls some of us are at times wary.

There was another page where you could request to get in line for a new 1190 to be one of the first 100 produced. I don't have the address but it was on their website somewhere.

Are you single?

Already know you are crazy if you race at Bonneville.

Not single but no children.

Phil,
big difference between calling a known number to order something with a credit card and just sending an e-mail with your credit card info. Just way to easy for somebody to steal the e-mail out of thin air and use that info. As I said, it has nothing to do with Erik Buell Racing but it is very easy to intercept e-mails. That is why I need to speak to someone in person on the phone or Erik Buell Racing neeeds to set-up a secure website for dealers to order just like they already have for retail customers. If they had that I wouldn't be trying to call them.

Did he mention that all of his Buells are FAST?...: D Dan, I can understand your frustration, but at the same time, I think getting the 100 sold is one of Erik's least worries, being as that he probably had more than 100 buyers waiting for a while now. I think the dealer setup was more for structure for future sales and to help with homologation.

http://www.erikbuellracing.com/motorcycles/1190rs/

Scroll down and you will see:

"AT 100, IT’S JUST GETTING STARTED.

The 1190RS will shock even the most experienced sport bike rider with its performance, styling and handling. Problem is, we’re only making 100 of them. Including a handful with the Carbon Edition Package. Own a piece of motorcycle history. Pre-order now."

The Pre-order now is a link that will bring up a form to get in line for an 1190.

BTW, my XB heads should be at your shop today or tomorrow, you'll know them by the extensive amount of carbon in the chambers, be glad I removed all the liquid oil/sludge before shipping them. The springs and seat are still a little oily, didn't want to wipe them down so I know they won't rust.

Does anybody actually know a person who has pre-ordered a Buell and put real money down for it?

If so who is the servicing dealer selling it or do they have to pick it up directly from Erik Buell Racing? Is there any warranty on these bikes and if so who would do the work if you say lived in New York? Do you have to ship it back to East Troy? If so who pays the shipping costs? Just so many unanswered questions right now surrounding the 1190s.

No reason to ask us, we don't work for Erik Buell Racing.
You'll either have to be patient, or...not.

There are a lot of really smart folks here who know a lot of the Erik Buell Racing folks personally so I thought this was the perfect place to ask.

Use Virtual credit card numbers. The only two parties that know your real credit card number is MasterCard/Visa and you. Google it if you don't know this means. You never have to send your real credit card number over the Internet ever.

E_B_R dealers have to sell E_B_R motorcycles. Otherwise we go direct to customer on parts. That's why there are no dealer prices. Only available to E_B_R dealers.

Dannyd, I know you sent in an application to be a dealer, but it'll take a little while to review it. Not sure having a cylinder head porting service has you prepped to be a motorcycle dealer. There are a lot of state and insurance requirements. But looking for answers or poking around for whatever reason on Badweb is not going to get you the answer.

Yes there is a warranty, yes there are dealers and more being signed. But right now we are very focused on serious dealers and making sure 1190RS customers are taken care of properly. The dealers know how it works.
