Received my pit bull stands from American Sport Bike yesterday. I read the instructions, lifted the CR (didn't attempt the Uly), and after some trial and error, did a search here on BW. Found the thread where folks posted photos (mucho gratis!). Put the CR back up on the stands and life seems good. However, I'm still not sure I trust working on my bike with the stands. Pushing the bike around on the stands scared me. I was really afraid the rear would slide off the rubber. Am I being too paranoid? Should I worry about it, or will it take a little pushing and shoving while working on the bike? Thanks! Wayne |

Never had a problem with mine in 9 years of use. |

Which front stand? I am assuming that you are lifting from under the lower triple? (you cannot lift from beneath the forks because of the different sizes left to right) I still wouldn't push the bike on the stands without another pair of hands to help. |

Slaughter: I had it up on both the rear and front stands. The front stand Al sells for the Buell uses the #2 pin to go in the tree. I wasn't so worried about the front as I was the rear stand. Still it was wobbling a bit and I just didn't want it to fall. I figured Al wouldn't sell them if they didn't work, and seems several folks here are using them. I think I'm just being paranoid about the bike falling. Wayne |

I've got T-rex stands, but the Pit Bulls should be at least as sturdy. They should be plenty solid for just about anything you need to do on the bike. When you say "pushing the bike around" if you mean pushing to roll it on the wheels on the stand don't do that. The wheels are only to let the stand roll under the bike as it's lifted. If you mean pushing, as in when applying pressure with a wrench you should have no problems. I do like to check the swing arm is seated well on the pads after it's lifted. |

Yeah, they're plenty sturdy when the bike is on there properly. Make sure the rear is placed properly on the pads. Also, they are not made to be transport stands, not for rolling. Another note (it's on a sticker on the front stand, but worth re-mentioning) Front stand is only to be used AFTER putting the bike on the rear stand, and NEVER front alone. |

A little anecdote: Back in February, I had my 1125 up on Pitbulls, front and rear. No wheels, no forks. My garage got broken into while I was at work one day. The first thing I noticed (before seeing that stuff was missing) was that my bike had been moved across the garage about 10 feet while on the stands. No tie-downs, just simply supported. The perpetrators moved my bike and managed not to drop it off the stands, so I'd have to say pretty stable and secure. |

Thanks folks. I think the key is ensuring the rear stand is on the bike properly. Initially it wasn't, but thanks to photos in an older thread about this, I got them placed correctly. I'll work on the bike with both stands, so I think that should help too. Thanks everybody. |

I've found it's plenty stable just on the rear stand. I only use the front if I need to raise the front for some reason. If it ever doesn't feel stable take a good look at what's going on and find out why. Adding spools to the swing arm can make it more fool proof too. I assume the Pit Bull is easily configured for spools. |

Mine is up on the rear stand now, New tire M&B as i type. Rock steady and no concern. Front stand is great as well. Solid. I do have the spool stand vs the multiple pad type, and replaced my 09 spools to ease raising it up. |

THey'll be fine. HOWEVER, be advised that while it would be difficult on an R/CR for the rear stand to push past the back bumper, it COULD be done. And while the 1125 stand is my stand of choice for picking up my Uly rear, it is even easier for the rear to slide past the rear bumper on a Uly because of the round swing arm end. I prefer the rear bumper style 1125 stand to a spool lift one. It is way too easy to scratch the arm with the spool lift variety. I've moved bikes around while on the stands plenty, just be reasonably careful and nothing bad will occur. Al |

Thanks everybody -- Thanks for huge box Al! I figured I was being paranoid, but hey you never know... better safe than sorry. Wayne |
