Wow, it looks like everyone is leaving Nebraska. Reminds me of that scene in "Unforgiven". "Little Bill, I thought you were dead!" "So did I. Turns out I was in Nebraska." |

I thought everyone was leaving Florida. Tons of empty, foreclosed houses. No jobs. Hurricanes. Guess not. |

Dyna, That was so last year. One year ago 6700 homes on the market. This year 1400. Prices up 10% in SW FL. |

So where are all the 'Hispanics' coming from? Most areas show increases in double figures for this ethnic group (+311% in Wasatch County Utah!)? Surely Mexico/Cuba/Puerta Rico must be pretty empty of people by now so maybe I should move there? However you have to be suspicious of some counting going on here. Hot Springs County, Wyoming, shows a population of 4812 in total (a decrease of 1.4% since previous survey) but in the ethnic groups the Asians are shown as 0% but an increase of 100% and Other groups are 0% of the population but that is a shocking 200% increase over the previous survey!! Either somebody can't count or there is some erroneous software at work here Lies, damned lies and statistics.... (Message edited by trojan on July 06, 2011) |

Wow the county I live in has more people in it than Wyoming, Montana, Nebraska, and North and South Dakota combined. I find that disturbing....... Oh and in case you are wondering I live in Cook County Pop 5,194,675 |

>>> So where are all the 'Hispanics' coming from? First, percentage increase is misleading if the starting population is tiny. Going from 1,000 to 4,000 for instance woujld be a +300% increase. But to answer your question, I think most is from large families. They are very productive folks. There has also been a lot of immigration, legal and illegal. |

Montana. Say there's one black couple living in a county in 2000. By 2010 they've spawned 3 kids. That's a fat increase. |
