I was replacing the rear brake line on the Uly today when I spilled some DOT 4 brake fluid on the belt.

This got me thinking about possible chemical reactions between the belt and brake fluid. Any chemists here can chime in.

Of the folks that have had drive belt failures, how many have worked on the rear master cylinder or brake lines?

Don't know the answer, but I'd go ahead and order a replacement just to be safe...

Good luck!

Back when my bikes had chrome steel wheels and there was no such thing as Armor All and the like..I used brake fluid as a tire dressing. NO issues and really shined them up.
