I wasn't really sure where to put this, here or the racing section, or even if it's appropriate, so feel free to let me know your thoughts.

My Japanese Buell-racing friend Kimi is selling some of his race bikes. If I understand the japanese/english translations correctly I believe the sales will in part help his plans for a new bike from East Troy : )

What we have here is an '02 Yamaha R1 from Kimi's team, "Team YDS Vritz" racing.

With one of it's riders, Tadahiko Taira:

At the Suzuka 8 Hour, not sure which year, it's either 2002 or 2003. That's Kimi in the middle at the front.

The bike has received an engine and chassis overhaul and is in very good condition. I will post details of build later tonight, and what I know of it's race history.
cheers,
chili

(For the record, I'm just assisting a friend spread the word of his bikes for sale, I have no financial involvement at all.)

A few details about the bike...

Adjustable ride height
Front wheel - Marchesini mag wheel 17" Rear wheel - Marchesini mag wheel 16.5" Exhaust, AKRAPOVIC evolution.

Yamaha factory Endurance bodywork and tank.
Race kit wiring harness (Endurance)
Stainless steel mesh hose kit.
YEC sprocket set. There is a lot of F/R sprockets. DID520 racing chain.

Many parts are factory Yamaha race parts as the team was a Yamaha satellite team.

Engine details include:
Special high flow head, reinforcement valve spring. Yamaha factory race camshafts.
Special piston & con rod (mirror surface).
Race clutch and springs.
Race kit ECU (Endurance)
Power check data: 180ps+ : D

The original cost to build was over $90,000 AUD. Kimi is asking 2,500,000yen / $20,000AUD (about $21,000 US at todays exchange rate).
If someone in the US is interested I'm sure Kimi would be willing to negotiate a deal for shipping to the States.

If someone is interested please contact me and I can put you in touch with Kimi. If you know a racer or collector who might be interested I'd appreciate the info above being passed on.

Personally, if I had the $$$ I'd love to put a license plate on it and turn it into an incredible race-track refugee : D
