Jerry,
Those are some amazing pictures. I'm sorry I missed that thread. The more I see of them and the more I reflect on the ones I have... All that keeps going through my head is... "That was one Pissed Off storm"

It sheared green trees in two, it broke semis in half like straw, it took cars and made origami out of em. It was relentless....

And yet it set that chair in the picture above in that exact spot like someone placed it there.

Thank God for all those that were spared...

Slowride: Thanks. Visiting Joplin was a humbling experience.

Jerry,
No need to have deleted the pictures. The truck was wrapped around that tree like a twist tie.

We spent some time there the day after with a news organization. That is where my pictures came from. It felt terrible to shoot pictures and not lend a hand, kindof tucked my tail between my legs.

Slowride -

I didn't like the "feel" of my post, so nuked the pix. If anyone wants to see them, they can follow my link above.

I know what you mean about the sense of helplessness.

Take care.

Joplin is my hometown. Very lucky to have any family left. My last week of leave before deployment as spent at funerals. As bad as the pictures are, it was nothing until I saw it. Worse than any warzone I've ever seen.

Nathan, I agree with your assessment: The pix are bad, but the reality is a million times worse.

My sincere condolences, and thank you for your service.
