I don't know about anyone else . . but I think this TracKey is seriously cool.

We are seeing the reemergence of the American Muscle Car.

I'm kinda trying to get in line to swap the 2010 Focus for the new ST coming out in November. There is something kinda alluring about a Focus with the power of the Porsche Cayman. Dave Gess let me drive his while at Homecoming and it could get addictive.

I like the way Ford is thinking . . .

It's almost like they are not owned by the government. Or owe them billions.

court/whisper- i couldnt agree MORE! it is truly why Ford is ranked amongst the best in the world at the moment! and since they didnt bail out they have been exponentially improving in all ways. Given, i am a Ford Man and im kinda biased, but you cant denounce the things Ford is doing in so many innovative ways. I cant wait for the future when i have the money to purchase a new one, we will see : )

Whisper, Ford did not take any bailout money from the gov. They were the only domestic that did not do that.

Cataract2,

I know. I was being a little sarcastic. It does not always translate well to the internet. : )

Not many are aware of it, but during the whole bailout crisis, Ford accepted $7 Billion from the Federal Reserve.

The TracKey thing is cool, I wonder if it allows them to work around some EPA restrictions. The Nissan GTR has a similar feature where it uses the GPS and if it detects that you are at a track it will allow you to take the gloves off and see what it can really do.

The comments from others on that thread is entertaining. Akin to someone building a $30,000 drag Busa and then driving it on the street. Some people just don't get it.

Engadget is a technology blog, so the comments aren't surprising. They have a sister site Autoblog that would probably understand it better, but their average commentators tend to be a bit thick.

Freseno, it wouldn't be hard for them to program it to record usage of different keys.

you'd be surprised at what the modern day car already records on a day to day basis.
