What am I listening to? Lame background music while on hold to the IRS. Twenty minute tingling keys soft piano loop. So sleepy.....doh.....forgot what I am holding for.....sleepy.....gobment mind control.....make you less apt to verbally attack if sleepy.....doh.
AWESOME, Greg! A killer version of one of my favorite tunes! I never get tired of hearing the DBQ, and have nearly worn out my DVD copy of Jazz Icons "Dave Brubeck, Live in '64 & '66". Check it out if you can, it has two incredibly well recorded TV performances in Belgium and Germany; Brubeck himself said that they were, "The best footage of the classic Quartet that I've ever seen."
As for what I'm listening to at the moment,(and put on pause to hear that Brubeck gem), that would be Side Three (Vinyl) of the newest Soundgarden release, "Live on I-5". Amazing album, recorded when they were at the very top of their game.
I never heard of them till the Jay Leno show...!! and WOW I couldn't take my eyes and ears off the screen. I don't know what it was that hooked me. I hadn't heard such good riffs and melodies with horn/blues band in a while maybe... something not usual on primetime? I don't know... but I went onlne pre-ordered the cd a day or 2 later. (after signing up for their email subscription)
I've listened to the cd 2x so far, it was put together well,... the whole cd...start to finish is fantastic. Just great. (OK...listening to it again from the TOP!)
Love her voice. the way she sings... ok...don't think I'm strange but it kinda reminds me of Mark Farner from the Red Album. Not alot but seems simplistic and to the point with not alot of extra licks.
11 piece band... is allways fun to watch...18th August Tower Theater in Phila, PA is where I will hopefully get see them live.
Bub Ludwig.... efing master of mastering.
What is that picture of the burning house in the booklet?
Oh and I got an awesome bonus from from Fandango. I used 'em to buy tickets for The Hangover 2 and they sent me a link for a free download of this song. Danzig! Hell Yeah!
