VIO POV HD? If it is then make sure to only use class 6 cards, it may skip a few frames on class 4.

That said the VIO POV HD is more money than the GP HD so unless what you found is cheaper, then it will not kill off the GP.

Looks really good Barker. I think it's probably a bit better quality (color saturation and sharpness) than the GoPro.

BUT i don't think it will be a GoPro killer - The inexpensive replaceable and waterproof housing on the GoPro is pretty unbeatable. Now with the rear display it's pretty tough to beat (don't have the display yet).

Looks great though!

I'm mixed about the LCD on my GoPro, need to test without the LCD one more time. Ny suspicion is that the open back for the LCD allows nothing but wind noise where I had almost none before. There are so many factors that I need to check with the old door again and see if it is the new location of the new door.

Its a T2i. With a 10-24 tamron lens. The image significantly better than the GoPro.

I wanted a camera for low light. GoPro sux in low light compared to the DSLR.

Greg_e,
Try a dead cat windscreen for the GoPro, there are a few folks making those specifically for the GoPro.

The t2i is a significantly different beast, large enough that I would never consider it. As you know part of why it is better is the larger sensor, then add in the better lenses and the image is of course better. Now hack the firmware to get better bit rates for less compression. And finally since the camera has more mass, you can make a nice shock mount to keep the high frequency vibrations out of the image.

I would have started with a Sony NEX5 camera, a lot smaller so it would fit more places and still larger sensor and better lenses than a GoPro. Or as I mentioned the VIO POV HD is a lot better than the GP HD, but costs twice the money.
