The only CEO wheeling his own bike off the grid Probably because his own pit crew refused to give him the keys! |

Interesting May has a timer on the top triple. Wonder why it says Zero? Warm-up lap? |

Quite a good group at the factory although the fellow does not seem interested. Yeah, he was keeping me busy when Erik came out of the building. I didn't get to hear a word Erik was saying. Care to enlighten me?

My homecoming photos are up here! All in all I think a good time was had by all. Not sure how Vickie took it when I marveled how normal she is compared to Court! http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/406 2/634148.html?1307295860 |

That 1190 is one sweet machine in person. Erik was talking to people non stop today. The bike gathered one hell of a crowd. He told me that the bike, in street trim, is below the weight limit for superbike. Unreal. |

When they rolled the 1190RS out yesterday . . . it attracted the largest crowd of folks I saw in about a single place the entire time are Road America. The bike is about 20# below the minimum weight and will haver to "wear" weight to be legal. Some with keens eyes have noted that the front and rear wheels are completely different. Likely no surprise that for years the wheels, front and year, have looked similar for absolutely no reason but symmetry. The front and rear wheels on a motorcycle do decidedly different things and see entirely different types of loads. It's high time that engineering was done for the sake of the rider and engineering rather than the viewer and convention. Just how cool it it that the maker of a foreign top of the line sport bike spent millions getting their race wheels below 15# . . . the Erik Buell Racing front is about 6# and the rear about 9 . . yeah. you remember right . . . we were told that was impossible by the same folks who told us, right before the XB platform was released that it was impossible to get a wheelbase less than 54.5". Interesting times for sure and it was GREAT to see such interest . . . I was sorry to have to leave early today . . about the perfect day at Road America. |

Truly was a great day at Road America! You want to let me in on who the famous person hiding is?!? On a side, does anyone know what happened to the Erik Buell Racing 1125RR on the last lap? Geoff pulled the bike over and stopped up the hill. |

In the last pic of May that Mike took... the stickers are still on the tire.... when I was racing and doing trackdays all the time, I had to have the stickers pulled off the tires.. I was paranoid they would cause me to loose traction or something.... looking at that pic still makes me pucker. Kinda like watching IOM videos and watching those crazy bastards ride at speed on the painted lines dragging a knee.... crazy skills |
