I tried a good one this week, Shiner Light Blonde. I love Shiner Bock but I do not care for the Shiner Blonde, however the SLB is more like a Shiner Light than a Blonde Light. First light beer I have ever drank that I like. My typical beers for summer are Shiner Bock & Newcastle but now they have a lighter companion. Only issue is that they do go down much faster.

Anyone else have a good summer companion?

Aaah Yes, I have in the past and will be getting back into it soon. I am usually a Barley Wine or IPA type of person, but right now I am enjoying a tasty Schumacher Alt (right from the tap).

Yup, got me 3 red, 2 blue and one purple ribbon for my Fractale.
The purple was for best in show.

Fractale was named after fractals, the mathematical study of chaos.

I have a Bavarian Wit in the primary right now. I just kegged up a Honey Weizen. I've also made a few different variations of DunkelWeizen. I'm a huge Wheat beer fan.

We have a lot of micro brewers here in Wisconsin.

Let the Miller, Bud, and Coors sit in the barrels, enjoy the good micro beers when you are here for HomeComing.

I had a pint of this with supper tonight:

Very tasty!

I bought this for my wife, but it turned out to be very tasty. We've been through a couple of 6-packs and one growler since the weather turned warm down here:

In progress!

Homebrew!

Both of these are meads that are still in the primary after 7 weeks. The corny keg behind them is a porter. The towels are to keep the light out - don't have a better place for them until I rack them to secondary. There is a third in secondary in a nice dark closet.

Why 3 at once? Went to buy 15lb of honey for a batch. Kettle seemed rather heavy. Got home and they gave me 50lb, not 15. Couldn't return the extra, so ended up making 3 batches. /eyeroll

Kind of a pain since my meads usually take over a year and that's all the glass I have. OTOH, mmmmmmmm homebrew mead. Forget the commercial meads, haven't tried any that were aged long enough. (end soapbox)

You guys should watch the movie "Beer Wars" its a documentary about the beer industry. I bet you will never look at the beer isle in the grocery store again.
