looking for a second bike and ran across a '99 Superhawk. Any info or opinions or things to look out for would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Thirsty, thats what im finding! So far this about all the negative I can really find, other than that sounds about as quirky as a buell.....could be perfect.

Those are great bikes, loads of fun but terrible on gas. A riding buddy of mine has one and I have ridden it a bunch, even done several track days on it.
You'll love it!

I can get 38 mpg on my '99.It has very light steering.Much more steering lock than a Buell.Great sound.I have Jardine high mounts.A fun bike.Lots of character.Mines for sale but a little far for you.

Fairier Pete has one with a Hotbodies kit installed. That bike has seen just as much ground as it has asphalt! BUT the dang thing just keeps on ticking, BulletProof, plenty of power!
THE BAD:
Heavy and LOOONG legged compared to the Buell's. But once you have ridden her for a while, evrything falls into place and the curves get a lil straighter! It was one of my considerations when I boaght the Z1000, just for the fact that I have seen how well built the things are first hand.

My opinion is they are pretty NEAT motorcycles, not as cool as a Buell, still...

I was about to buy a 98 back in 1999-2000, loved the look, sound, power, and "Honda" just implies reliability. (They look even better with those high mount pipes mentioned above, Two Bros also made a nice high mount).

I had the VIN, photos, and a loan and everything. Then I found fuel mileage stats that read 35-36 and dropped the whole thing. Told dude sorry, couldn't buy it. Fuel mileage has always been a huge reason for me to ride. Aside from body type of the bike, that's one of my top requirements.

I'd still like to have one though, just not as primary, or even secondary transport.
