Well the Jeep Jamboree I was going to in Cullman Alabama in September was canceled.. RONA

So they gave us the option to use the $$$ toward a Jeep Jamboree in 2021 or switch to the one being held at the Land Between the Lakes in KY the same weekend.
I opted for the Land between the Lakes..... and it just got canceled this weekend. I am a little more than bummed!
Work is extremely slow and it sure is nice to have something to look forward to. I have one more in October in Greenbrier WV. I sure hope it happens

I'm kicking around the idea of heading to RUSH Off Road or Windrock Sept. 9-13th

I need to try out the 4 link!

I remember Land O' Lakes from my late teenage days... me and two buddies went to ride offroad, it was EPIC. Best dirtbiking I've ever done, plus camping out. Another buddy let me borrow his Yamaha IT175, I flogged that thing hard! Best ride was when I got lost. Figured out that I was lost, but also that I had a full gas tank. Rode all afternoon on single track, til I recognized things.

Still would love to go back. Might need to find a 3rd bike now... ; )

I've had Matt's towing on all day in the background...

Its amazing what people attempt to drive off road.

I would love to go on a few runs with them just for fun!

So Matt’s videos had shown up in my Youtube lately, so we’ve watched all of those, which led to more off-fading videos, then I saw Mark posted that Black Bear Pass video on Facebook, which reminded me of this thread on Badweb. Cool stuff!

I am semi on the hunt for a jeep that can do MILD off road stuff. I would love to drive the Black Bear Pass road. BUT, my wife doesn't like misery as much as I do so something reliable with AC would be a must.

I'm day dreaming of something with a small lift but a tank underneath.
Lockers, Winch, skid plates and semi bullet proof.
The new Gladiator checks a bunch of boxes but the $$,$$$.$$ is keeping me away.

If I could just pick 6, I would be good to go!

You can get a new Wrangler with the Ecodiesel...torquetorqueTORQUE! Although, only a 4 door - it's the only way they could fit the fuel tand and DEF tank, apparently.

Personally, I'd like to see a 2 door diesel, and a 2 door Gladiator...er, Scrambler! But when even a base Wrangler 2 door manual trans no options other than limited-slip is over $30k...I'm not in the market anyway. lol

Changed out the original body mounts on my 95 yj last week, what a dirty, nasty, frustrating job that was. Out of the 11 bolts, 7 broke (mostly the 1/2" ones!). Luckily I was ably to get access to drill or knock them all out but what a time suck. A couple hour job ended up taking 8 and I even had to break out the welder a couple times. Next is replacing the driver and pass front floor pans, while not horribly I can see the ground so I'm going to do it right and then rhino line the tub.

Wish me well.

Well shit.... my Jeep trips keep getting canceled do to the Rona.

I "was" going to go to Alabama in mid September to one of the best Jamborees I have ever been to.
They canceled it because they rescheduled "The Land Between the Lake" jamboree to the same weekend. LBL is a larger wing ding and brings in more $$$ so my trip to Cullman, Alabama got canceled and they offered LBL for free instead.... Okay.. I'll give it a try...and canceled.
No biggie.. I'll use the funds to put my brother-in-law in the passenger seat at the Greenbrier Jamboree.... NOPE.. they just canceled it too. The real kick in the nuts is they are only refunding us 85% of our money. Needless to say, that does not make me happy! I was pretty PO'd for a few days and then decided to start looking for some other place to go. I have the days scheduled off and the Jeep is ready to go. TN.. AL.. Mi.. NOPE! I'm going back to good ole WV. I found a place called the "Good Evening Ranch" 400 acres of private free for all. They had Rock Bouncers last weekend so the trails should be pretty easy to find.

Stand by for pics and lies!

Ha ha! Crusty I know what you did there. You held up a quarter to show to your friends, then tossed one of those shiny new nickels that looks like a quarter, in under that Jeep!

Man, that trick never gets old!

Well this could have been the end of my trip and it damn near was.
Lucky for me there was a driveshaft shop about 15 miles away from the park. Got it fixed and got to play all day Friday.

Well... I had more carnage...
My last outing ended with the track bar ripped out of the frame.

Lets back up a little.
A few weeks back, every time I would turn the steering wheel back and forth there would be a little clicking noise.
I had my wife get in drivers seat and work the steering wheel, but I couldn't find the source of the noise.
PLUS! I had to adjust the drag link a couple of times to get the steering wheel straight. I'd go wheeling and hit a few
holes and the steering wheel would point to the left. Adjust it. Go wheeling again and same thing. Adjust the track bar
and park it until next time. I should have known something was up!

On Black Friday I went on a trail ride. I had a good time all day until the last trail. The steering got really wonky.
I would have to turn the steering wheel a bunch to get it to turn... and it got just plain scary on the road. I went
left of center a few times and almost ran off the road a few more. I finally pulled over to fine the track bar laying
on top of the front axle. Fortunately one of the guys with me had a couple of ratchet straps. We strapped it in place
the best we could and I drove it home. The drive home was about 45 miles of pure white knuckle. But I made it home
and dropped it off last night to get a double shear bracket welded in place. The single shear track bar will also need
to be modified... what fun! I'm kinda at the point of just fixing stuff when it breaks... I just wish it would break so often!

Haven't had it out for a couple of weeks.
With the amount of snow we have had lately.. . I've had thoughts of putting a plow on the front of it.
My driveway is a couple hundred feet long and I'm getting to the age where shoveling snow isn't my cup of tea.

Snowblower.

I love mine. 1000' drive, self-propelled, heated grips.... 28", I think? 2 stage, gas powered, easy and super low-stress. Like a walk-behind mower. Still some exercise, but not break-your-back work like shoveling. And, when weather is like now and we get storm after storm...it simply tosses the snow, so you aren't losing clear space by having plowed snow stack up against previously-piled snow.

Advice though - get a track model, not wheels. Wheels like to wheelie, and the chute scraper lifts off the pavement leaving a layer of snow. You can combat it with a constant up-pull on the grips...but it gets tiring (and sore) after a while.

I have a self propelled Simplicity 2 stage snow blower.

It would't touch the ice like crap we got Monday night.
Buy my S1 and I'll include it!

So I went to Windrock Park in TN for another Jeep Jamboree... Thought I might check the under side while I was there.
