I use a simplistic method to sort political crap.

If the speaker preaches envy, hatred, or insists that this nation is no better than any other, I KNOW he's full of crap. Easy.

( perfect? Hell no. but the deliberate spitting on a nation is not the same as reasoned criticism. )

Americans are no different, physically, than anyone else. We ARE everyone else. If we are fatter it's because we feed the planet. We could eat smarter. Think of it as evolution in action.

Greece? home of Democracy. ( and found out it has flaws, but is better than tyrants, usually )

England? Home of the Magna Carta, an agreement that the King would share power in a written down manner with his nobles. Possibly the first time such a power sharing agreement didn't have the King murdered.

The United States? Oldest Constitutional Republic. The Grand Experiment. If you ignore the War of Northern Aggression, we have had peaceful transition of power longer than anyone on the planet. True, we had an anarchist murder A Prez, Also a communist KGB James Bond wannabe, A Democrat loyalist, and a few attempts including someone obsessed with an actress that turns out to be Lesbian....irony can be really funny sometimes.

If I think a while, there are other nations where freedom was advanced, and the Mob was controlled. It'll take me a while.

France? It's not bad today, but the Terror wasn't a good thing, and the Mob still has a solid handle on it's soul...

Russia? had a very brief moment of hope, and freedom, then the lefties murdered their way to the top, murdered millions, and now it's a Kleptocracy.

China? Warlords to Emperors to God Kings. They still worship a fat guy who had a thing for 11 year old girls. Wrote a good primer on killing people though. Give him that. Current best guess is he murdered 300 million. Of his own people. I'll bet you its's 4 times that.

So, yeah, America is in decline, but that's because so many want us to be like the sh1thole places that we're better than, like Russia. We went to the Moon.

I think we CAN reverse the decline.

$6 gas is not the answer. Reforming the schools are.

Rejecting the parrots who preach envy, hatred and shame is a start. His thoughts are organic.

Organic means it's fertilized with Sh1t. And they can charge more.

I see Johnny has a envy problem I cant excel so no one can. Sounds like a Haitian outlook on life. In Haiti if you have producing mango tree your homies come and cut it downand burn it so every one is equal. The thought to plant seeds so ever one has a tree never occured to them. So Johnny when every one is as broke a you wish who will you and your " Working man proud" be working for

Johnny is playing parody of the leftisms that in truth he despises. He must be REALLY bored. He always cracks me up exposing the truth of what the far lefties really believe.

Johnny plays the part way too perfectly. It makes it impossible to pick up on the fact that it's not his true beliefs. I do agree that he is just playing the part, but only because of other things I've seen him post. What he does is a talent!

We've lost so many progressive thinkers here I felt it was time someone picked up the torch of overwhelming hypocrisy. Now enjoy your $4 a gallon gas now while you can and don't spend all your money on $500 sneakers. Your going to need it to feed your family. Don't forget to count calories and report obese citizens and polluters to walmart personnel.

Gas just hit $4.15 a gallon here but there IS a silver lining. My co-workers, friends and family are talking more about conserving their gas, eating out less in favor of dinner at home, eating smaller portions and cancelling those yearly costly vacations to dollywood or miami beach. They are learning to live with less.

I can honestly say for the first time in my adult life that Iam proud of my country.

I've been mowing lawn with my new bio-powered mower, no gasoline, no batteries, no electricity, just a great mower that allows me to get the job done very nicely and in less time and with no engine noise. Win, win, win. The only negative is that it just doesn't mulch up the leaves and sticks so well. I figure I'm saving a couple quarts of gasoline a month. I demand a government subsidy!

Whats in the cupboard Johnny. While were at it lets give what clothes he isnt wearing to Goodwill he is hoarding those. Goodwill can handle any thing more than one chair. Someone else could really use it.
Oh and the home you really dont need all that space do you and Summer is coming soon. The moocher with 4 kids needs your place. You ll be much happier under the bridge with the other Trolls

Blake, your new mower sounds suspiciously like a sheep.

You forgot to mention that it also fertilizes your lawn as it cuts. Furthermore, it can actually make lawnmowers, so it replaces itself when it breaks.

Tasty, too.

Gas prices here in Germany where I live (Kaiserslautern) I see diesel is 1.42 euro. Super (reg/mid) is 1.52 and Super Plus (Premium) is 1.58. All prices in euro. These are prices per liter.

Dude, we officially went Metric in 1895. No one cared. Or changed.

European refineries use a different process than American ones. The Hydro-cracking process gives more diesel, and less gas than the American system. That's why diesel use is promoted in Europe with tax incentives. They tax Diesel more here. ( 46 cents more IIRC )

I'm thinking it's time to START packen' when I ride...I'll ONLY knock off gas stations and only for the costly stuff GAS.

Filled up 2 bike yesterday. If you had EVER told me I could put more than 10 bucks in a Honda I'd laughed at you...HONDA CAR at that!

I put just over 5 gallons in my KLR and at $4.15 it came out to more that $21.00.

Then the Buell got topped off with the good stuff at $4.39 a gallon and was over 11 bucks for just over a couple of gallons.

There is no shortage of oil on the market from what I read but the future buyers (read Wall St pukes) are to blame for driving prices though the roof.

Good thing Ammo's still cheap because it's just a matter of time before you're going to need all you can get.

Birdy, you haven't priced ammo lately, have you? I agree that investing in metals is not stupid. Gold, Lead, copper..... Primers, Brass, Carbide dies......

Some of the gas price is speculators. Lots is the deliberate inflation by this admin. and dont' forget the whole supply and demand thing. more demand, no more supply, higher prices. OPEC is screwing you. See the Robert Zubrin article link above.

My brother in the UK & I did the math about 2 weeks ago. A US Gallon of gas would cost about $9.35 in Britain.
(British gallons are 20% larger than US gallons as a British pint has 20 ounces in it).
Gas prices are why almost everyone drives a small, economical car in the UK.
The last time I was back I joked with my father that I could put a handle on the roof of his car & carry it in my glove box in case I broke down.

Excuse me: The price has risen considerably in the last 12-15 months in the UK. (Equivalent + $1.75-$2.50/ US Gallon = approx' 23.0-36.5% increase).
This is attributed to speculation in gas futures, increased demand & no increase in supply. North Sea Crude is supposed to have reached it's peak supply level. The North Sea is still producing but it is costing more to extract. Taxation is high on British gasoline but there has actually been a very slight reduction in the tax per gallon within the last 3 months.

I fail to understand why people tend to attribute high prices to speculators. It would make far more sense to rephrase that along these lines... Increased demand & no increase in supply have caused speculators to raise the price they are willing to pay for gas futures.

Virtually every time there's been a spike in gas prices the government has done an investigation into the speculators. The answer has always been the same. The spike had not been caused by speculators influencing the market. Yet here we are again... President Obama calls for investigation into oil speculators. I don't know how many times this has to happen before people begin to understand that it's not because of the speculators. The speculators are simply reacting to the circumstances in the world.

I know I've mixed what's happening in different countries in this example, but I have little doubt that speculation had been vilified elsewhere in this thread. It's nothing personal against your response, it's just a handy example to make my point with.
