I used to do the front end alignments on my jeeps with a pipe wrench and a tape measure. |

every wire one up so the fog lights stay on while the hi beams are on? |

With a factory switch? No. But my aftermarkets stay on with high beams on. I get my switch source from my parking lights so when I turn the car off I don't have to worry about the fogs staying on. I hate getting out of the car and walking away only to see the fogs burning away. It shouldn't be hard with a factory switch, you'll just have to find what goes where and do a little re-connecting. You're really making me miss my old CJ. |

it has the factory harness and switch. the original lights have been removed. I'll hit autozone or advanced auto parts on the way home to see what kinda lights they have.... One thing fo sho... there are WAY to many metric fasteners on my American made Jeep. |

What is really dumb IMHO, is that somewhere along the years, the manufacturers decided it was a good idea to have the fog/driving lights come on with the low beams. Hi beams when you need the extra light, they go off, low beam when traffic is coming at you they come on, if for nothing else but to blind oncoming traffic. Get a quality set of aftermarket lights and use their wiring system up to the factory switch. |

fog lights are for driving in the fog. they light up the road down low where you need it in the fog. turn on the high beams in the fog and see how well you can see... now for off roading, thats another story |

Make sure you check online. Not that you haven't already but when I was looking for lights for the bike I saw several that were off road only at like 100 watts where most of your parts stores are going to have the street legal 55 watts. If you're doing double duty like mine used to get a pair of 55 and a pair of 100 to really light things up. |

My son put a set of four driving lights across the top of his Jimmy. Looks cool, lights up the night very well, and as he found out.....they also light up the blue lights! He got a warning not to have them on while on the highway. |

As soon as I can get past some "must do's" I going to get all over putting my Jeep back together, with lots of bigger better stuff. I miss trail riding and mudding with it. I cannot believe it was four years ago I put it on the disabled list at 'Slick Rock' in Tellico. |

Lift it or not to lift it??? 31" tires would raise it about 1.5 to 2" 33" tires would be way cooler but would require a lift kit.... What to do.... |

so Mark...have you found Quadratec.com yet? heheh....there goes the food budget! Looking good. Dunno if you remember, but I actually have two sets of aux lights on my Wrangler. The tiny ones are wired as daytime running lights, anytime the key is on, they're on (I have an override switch on the dash to kill them if I'm working on something and need the key on). The second set I have wired to the high beams - they're a DRIVING light, not a FOG light. Long, narrow beam as opposed to a wide, low beam. Also with an override switch on the dash. Trick is, find a trigger that's ignition-switched, so you never leave lights on when your key is off. I use radio power for the DRLs, and tapped into the actual wire at the headlight for the other trigger. Buell mirrors...hmmm...might have to try that.... |
