i have had 3 YJs (two of them didnt run) but they still count!

i miss my jeep sooooooo much! it was the funnest vehicle (besides the bike) that i've ever owned! I cant wait to get another one! it was a blast in the summer with the doors and top off, and a blast in places without pavement! They are pretty easy to spend a lot of money on though!

good luck finding a good condition one for a decent price! it took me a year to find mine!

well.. no luck so far. Test drove a 03 w/160000 miles on it... the ink was on the check when they told me it needed a new transfer case.... see ya.

Drove a 98 last night that looked good on the web... but it lost its appeal up close... and really lost its appeal when I drove it... it was walking all over the place at 35 mph and I couldn't get into 4 wheel low.

I'm going to look at a 87 this weekend that I expect will need a some/a bunch of work. But for the price he is asking I can deal with that. I was told its a good driver and it look pretty stock.... just gotta get rid of the chrome bits if I get it.

The body looks semi-solid.

The transfer case is cheap for these, a couple hundred bucks on www.car-parts.com and REALLY simple to rebuild. It's like a 3 speed Harley/Buell primary...

The 98 probably just needed a steering damper...

If you get into one that has leaf springs and it goes down the road straight and tight, I want to see how they did it!

With short wheel base and fat tires these things will frequently use up suspension bushings making them wonder around on the roads. But that is part of the charm of driving a CJ. At least the parts are relatively cheap and easy to source.

That's what I love about my old Dodge Ram... I'm only second generation redneck, but they never know in a rusty Ram sittin' on 33's.

Most of the Mustang guys are douches. They were only concerned about who's was fastest, not much in the way of civilized people.

Rhino or Line-X...depends entirely on how carefully the prep and application is done.

Do it wrong and the coating will peel off in sheets...

Whatever you can have done cheaper?

I have done the roll in bed liner, but it's a matter of some 3m scotch brite pads/angle grinder with wire brush and acetone...

Hey Wolf,

Congrats! Nice to hear you and a fellow badwebber may have a deal. Both parties win, cool beans. I wish I had a jeep to trade you, must have the bug Real Bad to give up a TT.

Thumper,

Glad you said most mustang guys. I'm a mustang guy. Don't own one, but have always loved them. Hope to get one someday.

And corvette guy? Please, talk about most being douches......

Mountaineer. I'm using that engine with a C6, NP208 & 8.8 rearend from the Moutaineer. Using the computer from an 89 Mustang GT and I grabbed a wiring harness to tie it all in from Painless wiring. Pulling the 5.0 tonight.

Hey Jim,

That looks kinda familiar.

I am looking at putting my electronically simple 406 2bbl small block back in, or, I may have an option on a 6.0 computerized set up. Either way it will be going back as an automatic on six bolt chevy axles with 35's.

Mark has nearly inspired me enough to get started on it!

And Mustangs??.....my wife has an '05.

Remind me to tell you the story of blowing a brand new '92 Mustang GT in the weeds on a Florida 1/8th mile.....with my 3/4 ton Chevy van!
