After the last thread on the z1000, I ran across one for peanuts. My youngest son is going to sell his Katana and ride this. Picked it up in Palmer (Alaska) last night and drove it to Anchorage. I really isn't spring yet here. But besides that, this thing is a KICK! Most like a lightning of anything I have ridden. Handles very much the same, same out in the open feel, and same comfort level. Not sure I like the lack of torque at low end and it will need quite a few stops at the gas station but nice ride and very much like my first xb. | ||

I saw it in a magazine, liked it. Then I saw it in person and walked right by without knowing. When I realized that was the z1000, I thought it looked weird. Weird dual exhausts and strange headlight with a huge bump where where the gas tank is. I still want to try it. From what you say, I think I will. | ||

It's an 03. So far so good. Rides well, comfortable with the corbin seat and the bigger fly screen actually deflects a lot of air. I may have to do more "testing" before the kid get's it (ha! he's a foot taller than I am and 40 lbs. heavier). | ||

my buddy had an 03 orange, not the fastest thing, but it was a hoot to ride,great around town, although i do remember him complaining on warm days his left foot getting overly hot. i would actually consider getting one if my garage wasn't already packed | ||

I wanted to test ride the 2011 Kawasaki Z1000 after sitting on it,.. it felt good... not unlike the CR with highbars, 8800 out the door. They would not let me without 1st passing a credit check. |
