I was thinking of a better surface, not one with splinters and loose boards popping up, and safer barriers instead of a lumber railing and posts.

How about 1/4 to 1/3 mile, high bank all the way around, super light bikes, very small displacement, rubberized surface (if they can make one strong enough).
