There is not a bad cut on this two CD/31 song set. It is a major bargain through Amazon.Com . . .$12.71.
Gary Moore is not well known here in the States, but was a major touring artist/recording in Europe for thirty years. Early on he cut his teeth as a blues performer and then moved into hard rock (Thin Lizzy). His return to "The Blues" brought him onstage with a celestial group of Blues performers . . .Albert King, BB King, Albert Collins, etc. (who are all on the 2nd CD live recording.)
iPod - amazing technology! I have my entire collection, gathered over 25 years on that thing! Put that sucker on shuffle.
Stranglers, Ramones, Pistols, Knopfler, Dylan, Ivan Neville, lots of Blues, Bluegrass, Metal, Funk, psychobilly, New Orleans stuff on there.... been listening to more surf (Surf Coasters, Satan's Pilgrims, Los Straightjackets, et.al.) lately - Variety is the spice of life. Last few tunes this morning were: Stranglers, Dr. John, Dickey Betts, Johnny Winter, Galactic, Gang of Four, Motorhead, Del McCoury, Blind Boys of Alabama. - talk about scattered!!
Music listening habits are all over the board: Tons of older country like Johnny Cash or Merle. Also a bunch of new country stuff though it's not really country any more Bill Monroe or Ralph Stanely for bluegrass Lynyrd Skynyrd and ZZ Top for southern rock Lots of 70's soft rock such a Karen Carpenter, or Neil Diamond Jimmy Buffett just because Elvis Yo Yo Ma and Andre Segovia (classical guitar) Most everything except head banger or rap/hip hop Love me some bagpipes too
That's weird Pammy. I was just listening to Straight to Hell, currently I'm on House For Sale. I've got Mystery Road on Shuffle but Fly Me Courageous is probably my favorite. Ever seen them in concert? I've seen them twice back in the day.
Drivin' and Cryin' is one of those bands I can put on the headphones, turn it way up and close my eyes and takes me back to 1990 and cruising around the back roads with my friends in a '81 Camaro.
The first time I ever heard 'Straight to hell" it was during a private performance by Jennifer Nettles and Christian Bush.
DnC are a Ga. band.
I was talking to my best friend about the song and the band and she says, "Oh, I have the cd right here". We were on a road trip so we listened to the talented rednecks for ...well 'til we got sick of listening to them. I have never seen them in person, but I enjoy some of their music. That song is my favorite.
Power Station's Bang a Gong. Man I loved the 80's! Oh, just changed to Mr. Saturday Night Special, live version. I've got it on "The Cool TV" It's basically a channel that makes you feel like you're watching Mtv from 1989. You know, back when it was MUSIC TELEVISION. Simply awesome.
Alabama (Born Country) Bob Marley (Small Axe) Jimi Hendrix (crosstown traffic) NonPoint (Piece of Mind) Three Days Grace (Life Starts Now) MXPX (The ever passing moment) Johnny Cash (Solitary Man) DevilDriver (The fury of our maker's hand) Hank Jr. (If Heaven ain't alot like dixie) Five Finger Death Punch (War is the Answer)
Alot of diversity on my IPOD 17011 songs and counting, I can listen to music continously for 46.5 days.
Buell brothers and sisters, here are a few I picked out for a gray Sunday afternoon. Some old, some newer. Too wet to ride so here is the music for the day. Jazz Butcher Conspiracy-waiting for the love bus. Nick Drake-way to blue. Exene Cervenka-excitement of maybe.Ray Lamontagne-till the sun turns black.Penguin Cafe Orchestra, Iron & Wine, Decemberists, Teddy Thompson. All highly recommended.
