"it runs like a scaled dog"

Tell me Court, just what kind of scales does this so called dog have....is it like a fish or are we talking psoriasis? Although if you are using scaled as a verb, I imagine that dog would run pretty fast...mine run like hell when it's bath time. You know I'm just funnin'.

I drive a Lincoln MKX and get about 20mpg around town. That's with the 3.7L engine. Regular gas. It is probably one of the most quiet cars that I have ever driven.

On the other hand, I have a Corvette (pre Gubmn't Motors ; )) and it is just about the loudest car that I have ever driven. Runs on premium, gets about 29mpg on the hwy.

I have a Corvette (pre Gubmn't Motors)...

Pammy, I have a Harley that's pre-Wandell, but for a lot of folks on this board the "pre" thing doesn't seem to matter. : )

What year is your Corvette? (I *think* we've visited on this subject before.) Back in a past life I had a '69 350/350 and a '72 LT-1, both four-speed roadsters. Hey, maybe if we start talking about 'Vettes instead of trucks, Lee and Gloriann will start posting-up again? ; )

Court, salient points you make above. We had two trucks already, but both compacts. We wanted a truck stout enough to pull a heavy trailer, and something with a full-size back seat, neither of which the Ranger or Tacoma could offer.

Nasty Homer Reindog, back to you for a moment: That big-eared buffoon in the White House didn't build our new truck, or sell it, nor has he serviced it at any point since we bought it. The folks who have done all these things are working folk, just like you and me.

I ain't crazy about many aspects of our government, including the total disregard for our country's Constitution, but I am pretty crazy about our new cage. Love ya, brother. Hi to Laurie. : )

I hear ya, Jerry.

I have an '07. Velocity Yellow. Coupe.

Wes had a '59 Convertable a '67 Convertable and a '78 Coupe.

But normally I am a Ford gal...even before the bail out. Chevy does make the best sport cars though.

Court,

I just picked up an SE fiesta with a 5sp manual. Broke in good at about 1200 miles. Gets an honest 45 mpg at 60mph on the highway and when I keep my foot out of it shows 31mpg around town.

It is ahoot to drive and pretty damn comfortable to boot. Two very large people fit up front. A small dog will be uncomfortable in back seat but trunk is great. Being color blind I am unsure if Magenta is a real color. 15k window sticker with 1k in rebates.

Can't beat paid for vehicle. the 07 F150 crew cab handles everything else I need.

Embarrassing to be driving something "officially GREEN" tho.

Paul:

I'm with you .... I like. Far that costs less than the $28 a day I pay in tolls. When you pay >$500 per month to park .... Cheap looks better.

I'm loving the way the Focus drive and may pickup a Fiesta for my Mom. She drives maybe 5 miles a month but is from, at 81, that generation that feels naked without a far.

Funny thing .... My 31 year, who rides a bike everywhere, wouldn't take a car for free when I offered him one. He rides his bike to the train in Portland, takes the bike on the train, and rides to his office. Very cool stuff.

Magenta maaaaaay be a color .... Let me know if you need me to describe it to you.

:.)

jerry and the other corvette owners, you suck!!! LOL

i had a chance to buy a 63 split, FI, silver with red interior, about an 8/10 for $13k, when i was 18 and 13k sounded like a small fortune for a 22 year old car (at the time), real nice but needed some love. if i had it now.....

i have also lusted after a 70-72 350 for quite awhile now! in black of course!!

on the camaro front, just finished washing her, hopefully the weather holds out, i'll post some pics this weekend!!

the wheels are on the way, should have those on by next weekend.

still trying to decide on the exhaust....needs to sound better, that's for sure. intake will be here tuesday as well!

the next thing after exhaust is SS Brembo brakes!!

have a great weekend, yes even you ford types!!

At first, when I saw the new rims not yet on the car, I thought the stockers were more in keeping with the new creased edge look.... But now they look just modern enough to be not an homage, but the logical mutation of the old...... Oh, am I gushing?

And I agree with you on the stripes, too.

SLeeZ, nice wheels (modern take on American Racing wheels?), but Gloriann is conspicuously absent in the photos.

Just sayin.'

always loved the Vipers, but cost and insurance make 'em unpractical for me.

always wanted a blue/white GTS

Insurance cost on the 2000 Viper GTS runs about $325 for 6 months (pleasure use only). Just a few bucks more than the BMW 1.9L Z3 was (sold it, was SLOW). The bug runs $60/yr for full coverage and it shouldn't be a whole lot slower than the Viper when it's done....
