FAST1075 did ya'll get to meet Erik? I have been very busy so I apologize right up front and there is a post here about the big breakfast. If it's here, I will eventually find it and read it. Just wanted to know. Ya'll had great weather.
We went over on the 11th and it was pretty cool. Saturday went north on A1A and took ferry over St. Johns to Amelia Island. Nice ride. Sunday we made it down to Daytona area for the usual last day sunday morning bloody mary bike weeks over for a year drink. Then took the long way home.

OK - get back to subject...

The breakfast went very well. We got to oooh and ahhh over the 1190...what a beautiful machine. Court took a zillion pictures...Erik did an interview and had some exciting things to say. The were a bunch of hall of famers present. I chatted briefly with Erik. Met a bunch of people from badweb. Recalling my "yoot" racing and riding dirt bikes, I met and chatted with Jack Penton...what an awesome guy..had one of his bikes back in the day. There was an autograph signing and such. I now have proudly on display an autographed coffee mug that Erik signed.

It was a blast! I am glad I took the opportunity to go...Know anybody that needs a kidney??? I want an 1190....

I'll tell you this...Erik is a FORCE..a whirlwind of excitement...when he spoke about where they are heading...he was beaming like a kid in a candy store...his enthusiasm is infectious.

Oh yeah...the breakfast was absolutely excellent : )...

+1000 to everything Fast1075 said. The food was awesome, and it was amazing to be in the same room with so much motorcycling history. Nice to finally put some faces with badweb names as well.

BTW, Court, thanks for signing my book, and getting Erik to sign it as well. You are both incredibly generous with your time. BeLinda.

He didn't . . . . but the guy pushing it cornered me and talked for an hour and gave me a box of those handout cards.

The event will be filmed live in Chicago and it'd be nice to have a great Buell turnout. I suspect there may be some fun and interesting things in store for Buell fans.

It will take place at 233 West Huron Street in Chicago.

This is like a snowball, it just keeps getting bigger and faster. I'm amazed at how quickly this is all shaping up.

I'm going to miss being "the Buell guy" when everybody is a Buell guy, and I'm just another Buell guy...

2008xb,

Ah, but you'll be a OG Buell guy. A second gen(XB) OBG! You'll be able to recall "the ol days", and talk about: I was Buell, when Buell wasn't cool... ; )

...With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world.
Be cheerful.
Strive to be happy.

Truly, I thank God for Erik, and those like him. People who Strive, who don't cave in. Sometimes, when It's all I can do to look at the world, Erik's story is one that gives me hope. A reason to strive for a little happiness.

Erik is a FORCE..a whirlwind of excitement.

Well said, he really IS all that. And more.

It kills me that I had to leave Daytona before the breakfast. I wish I could have seen him going full-force; we all got a sneak-peek at HC '10, he looked happier and healthier than I'd seen him in a long time, so I can only imagine how he looks and feels now. Good for him.

I can't wait to see what's in store...its shaping up to be huge. Lots of potential.

He . . indeed. . .is the happiest, most creative. . excited and overworked (that's a good thing) he has been in years.

Few folks realize just how much work goes into starting an entirely new company and far too many, I suspect, think he's simply using the same stuff, folks, people and bikes from the "old" company.

I'm working on a story about it . . but suffice to say . . when you get a really good, sorted out motorcycle designed you are about 3% of the way to starting a new motorcycle company.

This is going to be fun.
