After my second knee surgery put a huge suckface on my late season riding last year, I am still in need of new tires. I am torn between the Pilots series, Conti's and Pirelli's. What are your thoughts on these for my 2000 M2. Thanks and I will not put donlaps on my M2 ever again.

Tire time coming up quick for me too.

I want very good cold grip, rain grip, and mileage secondary. ( but not completely unimportant. Reality imposes a budget. )

I put a set of Pirelli Angels on last fall, and I really like them. They grip well in the rain and cold doesn't seem to affect grip at all. I used to run Diablo Stradas, but these are better. Another thing I noticed is that they don't track along rain grooves nearly as much as any other tire I've used. I can't say anything about mileage yet, but they are supposed to get better mileage than the Stradas, and I could get 12-13,000 miles from them.

Now I'm torn. I like the Stradas. For me they work well all around. But, If I could get the same from the angels with 2 or 3 extra thousand miles. hmmm

I had my mind made up last fall to buy the pilot pure but now the pilot road 3 has me intrigued. It will be one of the two.

RD-some places are referencing the Angels from Stradas. Just an FYI.

New tire time was a while ago for me.
I put on the new Pilot Road CT2.
I was in the mountains all weekend riding solo Saturday, and with Ann on Sunday.
Excellent tires, I highly recommend them.
Quick warm up, unfailing grip, and all round goodness.
There were some pretty spirited runs on Saturday, they did very well.

I installed Michelin Pilot Road 3's on my Uly a month ago, and a week later it ate the connecting rod bearings!

My PR2s were put a couple hundred miles before I rode coast to coast and spent 4,000+ miles on the road, much of it blasting across the desert. I expected them to have needed to be replaced after that, but I was actually able to finish out the season and they still look *almost* new. Great tire, and I'll try the PR3s next time.
