Well, crap- Hugh, no dates on this "sale"? Dammit I hate this for GT and Britt, and their employees!! WTF could the property owners be thinking? Glitch, any speculation here? I am gonna plan to ride the XB down for one last camping weekend... |

WTF could the property owners be thinking? Domestic bitter bickering is all I gathered today. I heard one thing a couple of times, "we'll just have to see who blinks first", I do not know what that means. The local valley people seem to be pretty upset, I was half expecting to see the community divided, not the case. Glitch, any speculation here? Only they'll have to start real soon, no one was to be seen at the resort this morning, this afternoon there were the usual suspects just hangin' out talking about what they read on the internet, what they heard from so-in-so, gossip and rumors. People seem to be optimistic of something happening last minute, not sure if there's anything to it, or just wishful thinking. 5 acres of lakeside property, just sold for 250,ooo, T.W.O as best I figure is at most 5 acres of creekside property, so I have no idea how they came up with the 1.4million. The property taxes on a commercial tourist resort type place up that way is pretty high relatively speaking (the tourist trade is what brings the money) so them not even going month to month to keep the income on a positive makes even less sense. I am gonna plan to ride the XB down for one last camping weekend... They have to open to close. The usual season for T.W.O to open is after the close date, so y'all just keep up with your e-mail, Brit is on the job. Either way, that last weekend we'll be camping somewhere if T.W.O can't accommodate us, there's Vogal State park at the end of Wolf Pen, but no alcohol in state parks, there's also a couple of places I know of to camp. I'll keep y'all up on what I know, I know that ain't sayin much |

The one time I was by T.W.O, that creekside property wasn't creekside, it was under a torrent. It shouldn't be worth much... |

Yeah I figure if there were a buyer, they'd not be able to get much of a bank loan, there's no comps that would rate anywhere in the million dollar range. I guess they're counting on the business GT generates to be counted in some how, so it makes even less sense. Unless they already have a buyer, and they're throwing the big price tag to keep it out of reach... I don't know, I just sucks is all. |

IF they open this year it would be great to descend on the TWO and give them a warm sendoff. I love that place and GT & Britt. |

Thanks Glitch- please keep on with the updates... Dammit I'd forgotten that their season is JUST STARTING by 3/15. Still unbelievable that the landlords are letting it go this way... If you hear more details about the "yardsale", do tell- someone should attempt to salvage the Buell memorabilia if possible. And Jeff's handlebars... |

I just heard the news TWO was closing from my friends down at Copperhead Lodge. I was logging onto badweb to confirm rumor. Big loss to the motorcycling world... 1st Buell, now TWO... I hope they don't close down, but life does have to go on. Next project, make sure they don't straighten out some of those fantastic roads... Still hope to see everyone gather somewhere close to the area for Badness, A-Buells day, or Buelltoberfest. Keep the dream alive!!! T |

We'll be open this week-end to start liquidating the stuff in all the buildings. We could use some help getting all that stuff together. If your club/organization has stuff on the walls, we'd like to get it back to you. Some of the Buell stuff will be sent to Erik. I believe I'll go and help. |

I'm not sure about anything really. There is a tremendous amount of stuff they've got to go through. Chances are Friday would be your best bet. Looks like rain though, kinda fits the mood I reckon. |

Late posting but Blake, back in the 70's Dad and I were turned away from numerous campgrounds along the east coast while riding. Many had signs posting "NO MOTORCYCLES" at the entrance. To Glitch and others... there's many campgrounds along the BRP that cater to motorcycles. One of the places we stay is the Rider's Roost. They were a "motorcycle only" campground before T.W.O. ever existed. They are located near Boone, NC. http://www.ridersroost.com/ |

Thanks Jim, yes, now a days there's no shortage of places to go. Unfortunately that isn't the problem. |

Jim,TWO was started in 1982 by Britt Turners step father Frank Cheek as a motorcycle only campground.I see on the Riders Roost website that it was started in 1989. Don't mean to start a pissin' match. |

Sorry Buellish, that would be recall from personal experience. I knew about Rider's Roost before I knew about T.W.O. I first stumbled onto T.W.O. on a recommendation from some guys at Deal's Gap in '90 or '91. They said it was a "new" place then. At that time we had already been visiting the Roost so I "assumed" they had been in business longer. No harm, no foul. Pissing matches are fun BTW when there's plenty of snow on the ground! Blake, they were still good 'ol days. It just happened to before motorcycling became so popular. I'll bet there's not many places that are closed to motorcycles today. |

I'll bet there's not many places that are closed to motorcycles today. I don't know of any that are closed to motorcyclist, I know of some that are less than friendly though. Maybe we could start a list of motorcycle friendly places, and keep it up to date, kind of like the BRAN. |

I was married in '82 and planning the honeymoon by motorcycle through the southern mountains.I found an ad for TWO in the back of Cycle magazine,I sent them a letter and they replied with a two page letter describing the campground, surrounding roads and points of interest. I'm glad I still have the letter, faded but still readable. |

Bummer, was planning to include TWO on my annual summer journey this year. Would be nice for someone to pick it up and keep the tradition alive. I will always have the memory of a great ride through Helen and ending the day by winning the fire building contest when staying at one of the mobile homes on the air strip property some years ago. Two Wheels Only WAS Suches and it will be missed. |

When I was there for Buelltoberfest '09 I had to leave early Saturday morning to make it home. I loaded up and got to the door at 7 and they weren't open yet. Waited for awhile and finally had to leave without paying my bill. It would have been easy to just leave it like that but I knew that it would have made the Buell group look bad so when I got home I sent them a nice check and a thanks for the hospitality. Boy am I glad I did, I would have been wracked with guilt thinking it was my fault. Still really sorry to see it happen, it was a special place. |

Usually I'd already be all suited up and headed out the door with a wide grin on my face, just knowing TWO would be the first stop. Well, I'm ready, I ain't got no grin though It's been raining, it's going to rain, and I'm sure it'll rain all day, so fitting of the mood right now. |

Glitch,Ann and I were up there today. We got to hang out with GT,Britt and Mimi.It was sad.I heard a lot of TWO stories. I bought two rockers off the porch that I've spent many a happy hour in,rocking and enjoying the day.I've wanted a rocker for my screen porch for a while. It's fitting that I've got a little piece of TWO now. |
