So I decided I will be switching my oil to Amsoil to show a little love for them showing us some love. I decided I'd ask Erik Buell Racing if they will sell it here is the question/response. Subj; low priority Amsoil question First off congratulations on the new bike and sponsorship! I'm super excited to see what this year brings with the new bike and Geoff May. The 1190rs is better than I could've imagined. Thank you guys for reminding people that USA can kick some ass too! I am going to switch to amsoil to show some love for them sponsoring us. I was wondering if it will be sold through Erik Buell Racing or if I should just buy it through somebody else. Also I was going to write to tell them that we're switching oils as a direct result of there involvement with Erik Buell Racing. Another loyal buelligan, Thomas Answer Thanks very much, Thomas. We are sorting through how the process could work, and it appears we may indeed become a dealer since we have received so many direct contacts since the announcement, and since we will be using it as OE fill on the 1190 and beyond. However at the immediate time, we are not, but you can buy from a number of the independent distributors. We do appreciate any letters to AMSOIL from customers. Great company. They had the guts to step up to support us when we are still so small, and to top it off they have superb technology. The question I forgot to ask is where to write. I saw a few emails and what nots but not sure wich one. I think we should all send a letter if not at least an email to show some thanks for supporting us. sorry the first post I put ebr and didnt know how to fix it.. | ||

I got essentially the same answer a few days ago. OTOH Court posted he didn't believe they would be selling the products since Amsoil already has independent distributors. I am under the impression that they are not, AT THIS TIME, planning to sell direct. The reason is that AMSOIL has a dealer network in place. (Imagine for a moment if you were the long time AMSOIL dealer in the East Troy area and suddenly saw your business vanish) This is HOWEVER . . in flux and I'd suggest folks stay tuned. It may turn out that there is no dealer and the deals falls in place. Or, it may be that Erik Buell Racing sells only motorcycle lubricants. Stay tuned to BADWEB for up to date information . . . answer, at this moment is, no one is quite certain of the arrangement. You folks will be the first to know. The letters are an EXCELLENT idea. Why can't Erik Buell Racing just become a standard dealer and we can sign up as dealers under Erik Buell Racing if we want? | ||

Indy that would be a cool Idea only problem is that some of us are already Amsoil dealers and so we would not be able to do that as we already have sponsor dealers. I just put my paperwork in the mail a today to be a dealer. One of the motivating factors was them backing E.B.R. but then I have a few other reasons as well like the lack of being able to find it on the shelf here and other is to maybe be able to make a few extra bucks here and there or maybe sign some local shops both car and motorcycle to start carrying it and I make money of them. In any case I will soon be an Amsoil dealer. | ||

I've been toying with becoming a Amsoil dealer for some time. With this new development I will sign up under them if that is possible. You have a valid point about the folks that are already dealers but I don't think there is anything that can be done about that. | ||

AWESOME subject line I figured they had more important things to do. Funny they emailed me back the next day anyway.. I was a little disapointed I didn't see mention of Erik Buell Racing on the website, but I figure they will update it. I figure they are sponsoring a small company that allot of people don't care about and alott of people would just as well see fail. And those anti-Buell people can be very vocal. We need to do what we can to be louder than the anti-Buell people, nd let them know it pays to back Buell. After all they don't sponsor them to be nice, they do it to sell more oil. So I plan on letting them know it's working and urge you guys to do the same. |
