Author Message   Mnrider Posted on Friday, February 04, 2011 - 09:29 pm:        I just called Alpine Valley. As of now they have 100 rooms available for the weekend of June 2 through the 5th. Alpine Valley would be a great place for a home base for Homecoming. They loved having us last year and they have a nice bar with local beers on tap! I can't speak for Ourdee but I'll bet he delegates you to call them back and arrange to hold a block of 50 rooms and get room rates. I spoke to them after last year and got the same vibe . . . they were off the charts thrilled to have the Buell crowd and would love to have us back. I'm sure Ourdee will want you to be finding out about locking rooms down ASAP. I'll bet tomorrow Ourdee has me writing Buell about Thursday night . . but who knows what Ourdee will do?? Wanna lock down Alpine??? Then you better start getting a dinner together so it worth Alpines while to lock all the rooms. If you don't get a dinner of some magnitude they won't. Alpine gave Me and Rocco a deadline to do so. If Alpine theatre has a concert booked for those dates they will not and cannot turn that away. In return you's will not want to be near the place with the traffic it will attract. Rocco and I took months to do what we achieved. Some (oh the horror) trailer their bike to HC. There is no shame in how you get there as long as you get there. Call and make your reservations for lodging where ever you want to stay. The best suggestion I've heard so far is East Troy Thursday and Friday. Then near the track for the weekend. For us budget minded people, the weekend will probably involve some doubling up in a cheap as possible room. I want to watch a race this year. There is a lot of things to do in the area. This far out, I'm trying to play it a little loose. Might try to hook up with the Brew City Thunderbikes to ride to the track with them. Need to touch base with Steve to see if they mind a stray rider or two tagging along. Or I may try to sneak in with Loose1. He will probably be camping near me in Mukwonago. Pronounced Muh-Quahn-uh-go.
