CSIS is the Canadian spy agency. This is a news story from the Canada Press (CP)
"CP - Canadian spies are being warned not to wear their loyalty on their sleeve - or their wrist or lapel. The hush-hush reminder to employees of CSIS advises keeping polo shirts, watches and pins emblazoned with the distinctive CSIS crest away from curious eyes. The items are sold in a secret shop tucked away on the lower level of CSIS headquarters in Ottawa, and made available to employees posted elsewhere through the agency's online memorabilia catalogue. An internal CSIS article obtained by CP under the Access to Information Act says the items offer members of the intelligence service "a tangible sense of belonging to the organization." But it adds that, in keeping with CSIS policy, employees must be discreet when it comes to publicly revealing their association with the spy service."

Agencies themselves are pretty stupid in that they sell identifying logo-wear and gear to employees... but not nearly as stupid as an employee who would wear the gear or carry the logo-handbag. CIA has logo gear too.

Yeah, I can just hear the conversation: "Ohhh, praise be to allah, I've always wished to meet a CIA person! Such a miracle!"

I can't believe there's not a picture of Homer Simpson in his witness protection program hat and shirt on the internet, but this reminds me of that.

go to any bar in DC and pull out your 'coin' and tap it on the bar.

you will see the house is full of spooks,
last one to tap buys the round.

When I was with The White House we had a quite "unofficial" place called "The Press Corps Store" that did commemorative type shirts and goodies from various trips with the P and VP.

My favorite . . . and they never even advertised this one in their informal catalog was "We don't elect'em, just protect'em".

I still have some of the catalogs in my old trip files and they still entertain.

Being as how I work in the security group, this has always been one of my favorites:

I'm just amazed to learn that Canada has spies. At first I thought the post would be that Canada had kidnapped Ben Spies, which would actually make more sense.

are they as hot as the russian ones ?

I should qualify the DC comment as it was indeed any bar that I went into, but I certainly did not go into EVERY bar in DC, at the time I was there the mayor was a convicted drug felon and washington was leading the nation in murder !

so yes, any bar in DC that a red shirt tail back from OHIO would be caught in.

Yes, CSIS is indeed a formidable organization. Met several higher ups when I was attending "secret handshake meetings" on a regular basis.........

Dilbert!

I had a big plastic Dilbert sitting at his desk that dispensed m&m's. Got drunk one night and shot the crap out of it with a pellet rife...
