My wife just told me that the AZ Governor got booed at that event. Is that true? I found the cheering when it started very disturbing, but booing. Who were the people at this event? It sure doesn't sound like a memorial service atmosphere.  |

I heard he did a nice job, although I was working when he was on and did not hear for myself. I heard it's been determined that Obama is French. |

The dish guide said it was 'Minute to Win it' so I flipped it on. After two minutes I had heard about 10 words and 1:50 of clapping and cheering. So I flipped it off. |

Not that I heard. As unpopular as Jan Brewer is in southern Az., she was treated quite respectfully. |

I saw the memorial but didn't hear any boo's at all. They must have been off air or very minimal. The facebook/twitter demons are numerous. When/if the internet ever is gone... what will these people do with their time? How will they get their satisfaction or demon fix? Writing letters? |

Any boos at a memorial service are incredible disrespectful. What is our nation becoming?

Even as it began, some conservative commentators were posting comments criticizing the memorial service for being overly partisan and more like a pep rally, and there were some boos in the hall when Gov. Jan Brewer, a Republican, spoke. Those reactions would have been hard to imagine, say, in the days after the Oklahoma City bombing. |

On Thursday, White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said that they were surprised by the applause at the memorial pep rally on Wednesday for the victims of the Tucson shootings.
I will say that I read the speech several times and thought that there wouldn’t be a lot of applause if any. I think many of us thought that. But I think there was a celebration, again, of the lives of those who had been impacted. Not just at that grocery store but throughout the country. And I think that, if that is part of the healing process, then that’s a good thing.
Oh really?
Then why was it printed on the Jumbotron?

Simple, have you ever watched closed captioning on your television? People were applauding at that time, so it shows the reaction in the brackets. If he was telling a joke it would be something like this:
A seal walked into a club
[laughter]
Actually, I'm surprised people aren't ripping him for the hand over heart comments, but I guess most of his critics made up their minds in the first 90 seconds and shut it off. |
