Any one know of the area in and around Mena Arkansas, I've heard there's a lot of good ride on and off road, and still a good economy.
The wife and I are thinking of re-locating there.

How far from Little Rock?

My sis has lived there for many years, I visited once, gotta say that downtown LR has a lotta good stuff going on! Plus a GREAT farmer's market that meets twice a week when it's warm...

I live in NE Arkansas, and it is beautiful. I have heard the area your talking about is great as well. There is a state park there. The road are fantastic, people come from all over the country to ride here. It might be a little colder than your used to, but well worth a trip out here to check it out.

The wife and I are looking forward to this late spring to go and check out the opportunities for taking our tire business there. Can't say I'll miss the summers and we both come from colder climates, she from Michigan,I from Washington state. We have a friend who has been there for 2 years now and loves it, says our business should flourish due to the ATV parks and the tour and sport bike traffic in the surrounding area. Had to sell my Buell last year 'cause there are no corners here, just long straight stretches of hot pavement.
Please more info if any of you have it... we're hungry !

I got kicked out of a Denny's in North Little Rock for having long hair.

They wouldn't serve hippies.
We were really bikers, but apparently they were unable to discern subtle differences due to the darkness of their unenlightened viewpoints.

Of course, that was in 1972.
It might be different there now.

If I remember correctly, the rest of Arkansas was pretty nice.

Al

PS why isn't Kansas pronounced "Kan-saw"
or Arkansas pronounced "Ar-kan-SAS"?

what the hell happened there?

Mena is central west , not far from the Texas border. Our friends say the folks there are very friendly, but make no mistake they are rightist Republicans, and after the debaucle with Harry Reid this last election it might be a nice change.
We were also told that the area used to be known as a sundown town...thats when it was time for undesirables to be gone. hmmm
